Speedlink Saturday for Week of Feb 1/09

Have you been following our series on trends in scrapbooking for 2009?  If you missed this week’s posts on trends, please click here.  We will resume the series on Monday with more trends and another giveaway (or two!).

See a video interview from a local news station with Elsie Flannigan and Rachel Denbow on the opening of Red Velvet Art.

Anna Bowkis shows some gorgeous paper cupcake wrappers.  Also, one photo at left.  I wonder if these would be easy to make or not… hmmm.

Here’s a neat idea for making a corner page bookmark by Christine Millar on the Darkroom Door blog.  (One photo is shown at right.)

Now that I’ve got a Bind-it-All (if you missed that, I got one for my b-day last month!), I’m really excited to see how to make a desktop calendar using one.  If you scroll down in this post on the Bind-it-All blog, check out the photo of the underside of a calendar designed by Lea Sanders. (Lea also has calendar jpg’s for 2009 on her blog link.)

Love this simple matchbook album by Elisa Resina.  See more photos of it here.

Envelopes made from magazines can be here.  Love the recycling!  (We previously posted about envelopes made from atlas pages here.  As well we previously posted about Matt and Emily Adams‘ Etsy shop, "The Bookie" which has "Green Cards" made from recycled magazines here.)

Looking for more CHA photos?  Melisa Sanchez has been posting a video each day this week in her video show, "Cropped."  Each video features 1 or 2 manufacturers.  Marina Simakova, from Scrap Magie, has her report on CHA with lots of photos up as well. (You’ll notice a layout with a peacock feather on it!  See our trend post on feathers here.)

Graphic 45 is celebrating their first anniversary over at their blog. Be sure to check out the wire dress form with a handmade dress made by Candy Rosenberg that was featured in their CHA Winter booth.  You can see it here as well.  A similar dress made for Basic Grey will be featured in the February 5th newsletter, take a sneak peek here.
