Scrapbooking Trend – Disguises (Moustaches & Eye Glasses)

I’m calling this trend ‘Disguises," as this term encompasses both eye glasses and moustaches.  With the emerging of celebrities sporting moustaches for certain roles lately, comes a resurgence in the moustache trend.  Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp, George Clooney, and more have all been photographed wearing moustaches of late.  (Yes, that’s right, I found a way to talk about Brad Pitt and George Clooney on a scrapbooking blog!) (Photo at left credited to Jon Furniss/Getty Images, Jeff Steinberg/ via .) Also, see the moustache and eye glasses motif appearing in fashion in some of the photos shown above.  (Note: there also lots of beards, but we haven’t shown them.)

Something’s Hiding in Here‘s Etsy shop sells carved Moustaches on a stick.  See photo at right.

Hambly, as you may have already seen, released moustache rub-ons last year.  Photo at left.

How can you use moustaches in your scrapbooking layouts?  Other than the obvious, adding it to a photo of someone’s face (!), you can also use them sideways to act as an interesting bracket.

Elsie Flannigan ("Red Velvet Art,") shows cut out blinged "Nerd Glasses."  (See photo at right.) These are wooden cut outs meant to be used as necklace charms, but you could easily use it as an embellishment in a scrapbooking project.

Moustache artwork can be seen on the Oh So Beautiful Paper blog.

At left is an image of Sew Bettie‘s own designed moustache fabric.

Michelle Clement made this layout, shown at right, using a moustache tag she made and sells in her Etsy shop, "Bubbly Schnooks."  You can get the tags here.
