Book Review: Scrapbook Asian Style

If you haven’t seen the new book Scrapbook Asian Style yet, you may want to check it out.  I have been looking at this book for the last few weeks and am struck by the particular feelings that this theme of scrapbooking conveys.  Vibrant, well-composed, and meaningful are a few terms that come to me from looking over this style. Chapters delve into such topics as composition, colour, motifs, fabrics, type, and more.

Author Kristy Harris, currently living in Singapore, has lived in Asia since the late 90’s. Over the years, she has been so inspired by the Asian culture that she founded a company called Far Flung Craft which specializes in scrapbooking supplies of an Asian theme.  Now, her debut idea book, Scrapbook Asian Style, focuses on designing scrapbook layouts and other projects with an Asian flare!

This book is one for your scrapbook idea library – it comes loaded with ideas and samples of layouts, cards, mini books, and altered projects. The list of contributors is one talented group! Included are Aida Haron, Jennie Yeo, and many more.  So if you are looking for new ideas and ways of thinking about scrapbooking, take a look at Scrapbook Asian Style.

What is inspiring me this week is that it is cold!!! Therefore, I am using lots of reds, oranges and yellows to make happy, warm, and cheerful cards. If I use blues and whites, for thoughtful cards, they will make me feel colder than it already is (which is in 0-9 degrees).
