Handmade Christmas Card a Day – Day 16

Jan Tatomir created today’s featured card for day 16 of our Handmade Christmas Card a Day series. For more ideas and inspiration from Jan, please check out her blog here. For past cards, please click here.

I am on Di Hickman‘s Card Sketch Team and this is based on a sketch from her.

Paper & Metal Word: Making Memories
Ribbon: JoAnns, Strano Designs and Old Navy
Lace: Carolace
Button: Dress It Up
Floss: DMC
Ink: Ranger Distress Ink
Sander: Basic Grey
Other: machine stitching, pop dots
Sketch: Di Hickman
Cut tree shape out of scrap heavyweight cardstock.
Cover with ribbon, leaving a little over both sides and trim.
Glue a piece of ribbon for the trunk of the tree to the back of the card. Sew around the edge of the tree.
Add paper to card and sand edges.
Ink edges of card and lace.  Add lace to card.
Use pop dots to add tree to card.
Tie the floss in the button and add to top of tree with pop dot.
Rub a little ink on the metal word to distress it a little and add to card.
