Welcome to our virtual tours feature on brick and mortar scrapbook stores! For the past posted store tour, please click here. For now, please welcome K2 Scrapbook Studio!

K2 Scrapbook Studio is located at 4281 Clark Road in Sarasota, Florida and has been open for 3 years this May. They carry all the latest products for traditional, hybrid and digital scrapbookers, as well as a nice supply of mixed media products.

Take a look at some of the unique features of this store. There are some really great ideask2scrapbookstudio7.JPG for displaying your layouts in your own home. Check out the old head boards which have been repurposed as frames for displaying layouts. Karen Hamad, owner of K2 Scrapbook Studio, tells us, “The neat boards that we hang our customer’s layouts on are terrific, just painted boards strung with wire, and using painted clothespins to hold the layouts up.” She also says that a lot of their customers have created boards for themselves out of old head boards, mirrors, and the like to display their own creative projects.

Among the celebrity scrapbookers who have been sighted at K2 Scrapbook Studio are, Margie Romney-Aslett from Making Memories, Janna Wilson, and Kezia Whittaker of Tinkering Ink.

They have classes ranging from Digital scrapbooking, to Canvas workshops, to layout and mini album classes. K2 Scrapbook Studio tries to focus their classes on techniques so that scrappers take home more than just a project. They are a Creative Cafe store as well, and do a lot of exciting things through that program.

A huge retreat is planned for Sept. 19-21, 2008 featuring classes by Danelle Johnson, k2scrapbookstudio2.JPGMelodee Langworthy, and Kristi Sikora-Blankenship. It will be a 3 day event, hosted at Long Boat Key Club, Sarasota, Florida, and will include at least 4 workshops, several Art Bar projects, delicious food and tons of fun. Registration for this event will be open soon, but both Danelle and Melodee have it listed on their blogs as upcoming events. Anyone interested can contact K2 for more info.

A new website is in the works, but you can still visit their blog. Their email is k2scrapbookstudio (without the space) and the store telephone number is 941-926-1744. Karen tells us that their “biggest claim to fame is our customer service and incredibly friendly atmosphere… we are a lot like CHEERS, a scrapbooking home where everybody knows your name!”
