Jacqueline Yeo is becoming well known for her beautiful appliqued album and book covers. You can take a look at them in her Etsy shop, “For the Record,” where she sells them. Jacqueline also scrapbooks and makes other crafts. She actually works as an architect and is a wife and mother to two young children. You can see more of her work on the Design Teams she belongs to: October Afternoon, Story of My Own, and Label Tulip.

Here are the questions we posed to Jacqueline, along with her answers:

{ScrapScene} How long have you been scrapbooking? What got you started?jacquelineyeotakenote.jpg

{Jacqueline Yeo} I started scrapbooking in the Fall of 2005, when my elder daughter was about 7 months old. That makes it about 3 yrs since! πŸ™‚ I love looking back at all the older scrap layouts, it really makes it even more special now that I’ve got 2 daughters and not much time to document their growing up years otherwise!

{ScrapScene} Can you tell us a little about your appliqued projects? (i.e. How did you learn about this craft, etc.)

{Jacqueline Yeo} I’ve also loved anything crafty. I got started with the appliqued projects when I wanted to create a photo album cover with my little girl’s handprints on them. After that, I started to do more mixing and matching of materials and giving them out as presents. People liked them so much they came back with more orders, and I started to list them on Etsy as well. {ScrapScene} What are your favourite techniques and products?

{Jacqueline Yeo} I love using chipboard and embellishments! Any type will set my heartbeat skipping. πŸ™‚ At the moment, my favorite embellishment are the MM love pebble clips! They look good on any LO, mini albums or altered art.

{ScrapScene} What are your most essential scrapbooking tools?

{Jacqueline Yeo} My exacto knife, tape glue and MM cutter are my essentials! I also just got a corner rounder, which I LOjacquelineyeoembroidery.jpgVE…..

{ScrapScene} What do you think is the hottest trend in scrapbooking?

{Jacqueline Yeo} What do you predict for future trends? I love the felt / fabric trend lately. I love all that glitter as well. I think future trends will include a lot of colour, matryoshka dolls, gothic imagery…. πŸ™‚

{ScrapScene} Do you have any tips for getting published?

{Jacqueline Yeo}jacquelineyeochubby-feet.jpg Erm, I haven’t been published! haha…. that said, I think it’s also down to not submitting enough. With my assignments at October Afternoon, I would be much more rigorous with submissions, so hopefully I’ll get published soon! πŸ˜›

{ScrapScene} What other hobbies are you involved in besides scrapbooking?

{Jacqueline Yeo} Knitting, baking, crafting, sewing, pottery… the list goes on. I’m only limited by the amount of time I can spare! πŸ˜›

{ScrapScene} Are there any other Designers that inspire you?

{Jacqueline Yeo} O there are loads! I’ve got at least 150 people on my bloglines as we jacquelineyeobabyblanket.jpgspeak. I get inspired everyday by all these fantastic scrappy friends and crafty friends all the time. And I think Flickr is the BEST invention ever… πŸ™‚

{ScrapScene} What project are you working on now? Do you have any sneak peeks to share?

{Jacqueline Yeo} I’m working on a range of toddler blankies right now. They’re more figurative than the baby blankets that i’ve listed in my shop, and also much larger. Have attached a sneak peeks. (See photo above right.)

{ScrapScene} Can you describejacquelineyeoscrapspace.jpg your scrapping space and share a photo of it?

{Jacqueline Yeo} My scrapping space is a mess! πŸ˜› heh heh… i haven’t really got a decent picture of it all packed up. (See photo of Jacqueline’s scrap space at left. For more photos of her home, please click here.)

Thank you Jacqueline!
