Below are the questions we posed to Lisa along with her answers:

{ScrapScene} Please tell us a little about yourself and your family.

{Lisa Gurganus} I am a 30yr. old SAHM of two children. I have a 10 yr. old daughterlisagurganusbling.jpg and a 3 yr. old son. I have a fabulous husband (that) I have been married to for 9 years (who) is an officer in the U.S. Army National Guard. We live outside Washington D.C. and have been here for almost 7 years.

{ScrapScene} How did you first get into scrapbooking?

{Lisa Gurganus} When my mother passed away from cancer in 2005, my sister-in-law brought this HUGE bag of stuff to my father’s to do a poster board of pictures of my mom for the funeral and I was clueless as to why she has all these crafting materials crammed in this bag. Well it was some of her scrapping supplies she was using to put together this lisagurganusalteredbox.jpgposter board, so after everything was done and we came back home I got to thinking because I had a small child who would not know who his grandmother was. I decided I would at least chronicle my mom’s life in scrapbooks so my son would know about his grandmother and from there it has just snowballed into what it is now.. an obsession.. (an) addiction!

{ScrapScene} How would you define your style?

{Lisa Gurganus} I honestly don’t lisagurganussweet.JPGknow what my style is yet. I have only been doing this for a year and a half. I would say best guess is that it is eclectic, free style, whimsical. I am still growing and experimenting with styles and things I like.

{ScrapScene} What is your favourite scrapbooking subject?

{Lisa Gurganus} Children! They can make layouts so much fun with their quirky expressions! I like my pictures to not be “planned” and you can always count on a child for an adorable photo that is them just being them!

{ScrapScene} Do you have a favorite technique you’d like to tell us about?

{Lisa Gurganus} Not sure how much of a “technique” this is.. but I love to alter things! I will alter anything I can get my hands on!lisagurganusalteredtakeoutbox.jpg

{ScrapScene} What are your favorite materials/products?

{Lisa Gurganus} Chipboard is probably my all time favorite because I can alter it into whatever I need/want for my layout/project! A close second would be rub-ons! Doing this acrylic album was heaven for me because I could use so many of the different rub-ons I had!

{ScrapScene} What are your most essential tools?

{Lisa Gurganus} ATG gun.. my computer.. my cutterpede paper trimmer and last but not least my brand new Sony DSLR camera!

Below are photos Lisa has shared of her scrapping studio.
