The Challenge: Mini books? You’ve got to love them! We do and thought we would create a contest about them. Your mini book can be any size and any number of pages. It can be a project you’ve created brand new, or one that you have previously made. All we ask is that you either create a unique binding for it or use a creative method of closure/fastener. (Or both!) Entries will be judged on overall appeal as well as creativity in the binding and/or closure.

Inspiration: Need some inspiration? Take a look at some of these tutorials and artwork to give you some ideas. (Click thumbnails to enlarge).

Also, check out these links:

Elsie Flannigan used her adhesive backed fabric to bind together a mini album – you can see photos here.

Sherry Wright attached pom-poms to the binding of her mini album for Queen & Co blog. You can see photos here.

Helen Williams shows a tutorial of how to make a mini album and close it like a handbag. Take a look here.

Colette Bate shows an acrylic album she made along with a tutorial here for Scrap Magie.

How to Enter: Anyone residing in any country can enter up to 3 projects. To enter, email a photo of your project to us at [email protected] and we will post it up in our onsite contest gallery for you. ** Please do not submit anymore than 3 photos of your project and please try to keep them under 150 kb each.** By submitting, you agree to ScrapScene displaying your entry on our website. If you require us to take it down for a future submission elsewhere, please let us know and we will do so. To view contest entries as they come in, you can go to our gallery here.

Deadline: Deadline for all entries is Thursday night, August 16th, 2007 11:59 p.m. EST. Once the deadline has been reached, we will select one winner based on creativity and overall appeal. On Sunday, August 19th, a winner will be announced.

Sponsor: This contest is sponsored by generous donations from Scrapalicious.

Scrapalicious is a scrapbooking store located in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. They have recently launched an online store featuring tons of great scrapbooking supplies and materials. binditall_200px.gifGrand Prize for one winner is the following:

A Bind-it-All machine by Zutter!! YES, you read that right! Not only will you get a mini book binding machine of your very own, but you will also receive a half a dozen binding coils, a few board covers and inserts plus a CD with lots of ideas for using the machine. (To take a look at how easy it is to use this handy binding machine, click here).
