Scrapbooking Trendwatch: Transparencies

Have you noticed all the great ideas out there lately for using transparencies? They lend such a unique look to a layout or minibook. You can use them as is and layer over a scrapbooking layout, you can decorate them using a marker for doodling or journaling, paint on them, use foam stamps, use rub-ons on them… the list goes on.

Check out Kristina Contes‘ work using Hambly Screenprints tranparent overlays here. Also Karen Russell has some great work using her own printed transparency designs “Narratives” by Creative Imaginations as well as some Hambly product on a clear layout shown above. Ali Edwards recently showed a mini book she created using My Mind’s Eye printed transparencies here. You may also recall a post I did awhile ago showing a baby announcement made by April Petersen that used a transparency with pretty pink paint.

So what do you say, give it a try if you haven’t already!
