How is someone defined as a ‘celebrity’ and added to your blog roll?
This is a difficult one to define as the criteria is pretty subjective - a ‘celebrity’ for one person may not be for another. Sometimes people are nominated by someone. Some of them are pretty obvious celebrities, like DD or AE, but basically what it comes down to for us, is the following: do they have a ‘following’? are they a published author? do they teach internationally? are they on manufacturer design teams? do they have a blog that is regularly updated with scrapbooking-related content? do they have their own line of scrapbooking products? etc. We recognize that not everyone currently on the list falls into these categories, and there are some not on the list that could be there, but we are continually refining and updating it and do so carefully so as not to offend anyone. Plus if we named everyone, the list would be unmanageable! With all of this in mind, if there is someone you feel should be on this list, please let us know and we would be happy to research them for consideration.
How can I submit a topic for posting?
If you have a topic or project that you think would be of interest to our readers, please feel free to drop us an email at scrapscene@gmail.com and we will gladly consider it for a post.
I am interested in advertising my company on your site. Where can I get more information about this?
Please refer to our “Advertise with Us” page. There are a lot of different offerings that can be arranged which range from sponsoring a contest to product reviews, to banner ads.
Angie, do you have any time to do your own scrapping?
ScrapScene does take up a lot of time: searching for topics, answering emails, and posting, of course. Not to mention caring for a toddler and a new baby! Very little time is left for ’scrapbooking for pleasure,’ but I always find a way to make time! Especially since so many of the posts have something that inspires me to create.
Most of what I see on ScrapScene traditional scrapping. How come there isn’t more digital scrapping featured?
We try to include bits of information regarding digital and/or hybrid scrapping here and there and when we come across it, but this is not my forte so thus traditional scrapping is the main focus. We would love to have more, so if you are interested in Guest Posting, please see our Advertising page for more information or email us at scrapscene@gmail.com .
Sometimes there is scrap-related news that I would expect to see here, but you don’t seem to mention it on ScrapScene.
It is difficult to keep up with everything scrap-related out there. So what we focus on is the following: topics that we think are of interest to our readers, topics that are suggested via email or comments and of course advertising client’s information. There is much more scrap-related information out there that we simply have not come across yet, or time does not permit working it up into a post. If you know of something that you think we should be posting on, please send us an email at scrapscene@gmail.com and we’ll do our best to accomodate.
Do you have an on-line store that you can recommend?
Our advertisers would be the first place I would direct you to. You can see them on our Contest pages, in the Text Link Ads and the Banner Ads on the home page.
Do you offer Guest Posting or Link exchanges?
Yes, please see our Guest Posting information on our Advertising Page and our Sites that Link Here page for exchange information.
How do I get my Contest/Call/Event posted on your site?
We do post Scrapbooking Contests/Calls/Events every so often. If you are interested in having yours included in our next post, please send the information via email. Please include the following brief information: details, deadline/event date, and a link where we can point our readers for additional information. Make sure you include enough lead time as we don’t put these up every day.
Please note that we may edit for length, grammar, spelling and clarity if we have time, however we do prefer you do this yourself and also use the spell checker before you send it in. Sorry, but that is a pet peeve of mine as well as: no all word caps please (no one likes to be yelled at) plus please limit yourself to one exclamation point at the end of a sentence.
If changes are required after the post is up, please send us the page link of where the change is to be made.
These posts do not contain photos, logos, or any sort of advertising information. For sales and specials or other announcements of this type, please refer to our Advertising Page and the Press Release option.
