While I'm waiting for my copy of the Seafoam Project Life Kit to come in, I've been making up some of my own cards. Here is a run-down of the kinds of cards I've been making:
Some have been painted, others have been decorated up using washi tape and others are straight printables. (Click here to see lots of Project Life printables linked up in previous posts.)
The cards above were cut from kraft cardstock and have patterned paper scallop punches adhered to the edges. (Fiskars Scallop Punch .)
Filler Cards – These cards are exactly what they say – "filler" cards are meant to fill in some blank spaces in the sleeves and add a little bit of colour and decoration to the overall page. In the photo above, you will see some blank cards that have painted stripes, a graduated watercolour background and another with painted on triangle shapes.
Quote Cards – These are for inspiring quotations found on the web or for cute quotes my kids say! These ones shown above are made with a paintbrush – I like the imperfection of them. It makes them more real.
Journaling Cards – These cards will be used to write in details that relate to the photos and events I am scrapbooking for Project Life. I think I will mostly be handwriting these rather than printing them out. Quicker for me to do this, plus I love handing down handwriting as part of the album. (I still love looking at old recipes written in my Grandmother's handwriting!)
In the above photo, some blank cards have hand drawn on details, others have washi tape stripes. Others are cut from patterned paper and some have printable labels.
The photo above shows mainly printables.
