Today's card, for day 13, is one of my own. This one was made with Graphic 45 papers. This card is not very "Christmas-y," but it does have the colours, plus Santa's head makes an appearance in the centre of the flower!
Materials: patterned papers (Graphic 45), old vintage book page (for backdrop behind flower), card stock, raffia string, Fiskars punch for edge trim.
If you haven't made an accordian flower before, you should try it. It's really quite easy.
Cut a long strip of paper. The length will depend on the size of flower you want and whether it meets the other end easily or not! The one shown was made with 3 strips of different patterned papers. They were each folded, accordian style. Then the ends were glued back to back. The two ends were then turned together and glued. I used a glue gun for this stage and also glued it down to the surface of my card at the same time. For the centre of the flower, you can add any type of embellishment, a paper cut-out (like above), or even a button would be nice.
A piece of string was used for the stem of the flower and the leaves were just free-style cut with a pair of scissors.
Thanks for looking!
