Get It Scrapped Classes have moved to Creative Passion.
By Debbie Hodge
Memory keepers have discovered that online classes are a fabulous way to learn new techniques as well as find inspiration, encouragement, and community. Every online classroom has its own approach to training and content development—which is a great thing for all of us. Just as I get my scrapbook papers from a variety of manufacturers, so, too, do I get my training from a variety of teachers and websites.
With demand for online classes increasing this past year, my work at Get It Scrapped became more and more taken up by managing a website, supporting customers, and marketing. While I love those things in certain doses, I have missed teaching. Thus, I have worked with Tami Taylor and many of the Get It Scrapped teachers to offer their classes at a new (more robust and stable) website. That website is Creative Passion Classes, and I am thrilled to be teaching there this month alongside several Get It Scrapped teachers.
The Get It Scrapped website isn’t going anywhere, though. In fact, we’re getting back to writing lots of free tutorials and articles, so be sure to keep the blog in your reader (and on your radar.)
Here’s a look at this month’s new classes at Creative Passion Classes.
CREATIVE COMPOSITES with Jana Morton – class starts January 9 (registration closes same day)
Amp up your digital photo art with advanced blending, sequencing and motion techniques. Take your blended images to the next level with color enhancements, layering of blending modes, filters, sequencing of photos and creating motion. In this follow-up to Blending and Beyond, once again you look over Jana Morton’s shoulder, to better understand how she uses Photoshop tools to transform photos into a piece of art and achieve her signature look.
CREATIONS BY HAND with Michelle Houghton – class starts January 11 ( registration closes same day)
Combine doodling, handlettering, and copic marker techniques for adding handmade touches to a variety of projects. This teacher-led, interactive workshop includes how-tos and ideas for making custom backgrounds, borders, tags, and embellishments. Now you can put your doodles, handlettering and copic-colored images to work on home decor, giftwrap, scrapbook pages, cards, and more. Lessons are in pdf format with selected techniques also presented via video.
SCRAPBOOK PAGE LAYERING with Debbie Hodge – class starts January 24 (registration closes same day)
Master design techniques for layering on both clean and richly-packed scrapbook pages. Come away with ideas for using your stash and a stack of layouts you’ll love. This class is for paper and digital scrapbookers. Whether you like clean and simple scrapbook pages, freestyle collages, clustered groupings with lots of white space or something in between, layering adds interest and creates design unity.
LEARN DIGITAL SCRAPBOOKING WITH TEMPLATES with Pattie Knox class starts January 30 (registration closes same day)
Make designer-inspired scrapbook pages beginnning with lesson #1 while learning Photoshop and/or Photoshop Elements. If you’re interested in trying your hand at digital scrapbooking but find the blank screen intimidating or even bewildering, let Pattie take your virtual hand and get you up and running with written and video lessons.
