I recently had the chance to play with a new embossing board by The Glitter Girls, available through Happy Crafter. Their "all-in-one cardmaking and scrapbooking system" makes it easy to emboss on cardstock and patterned paper as well. All you need is the embossing board, a stylus/ball tool and a dryer/slicker sheet to lubricate the card
The one I tried is called, "Bookatrix," and is a two-sided, multi-design embossing board. One side has embossing grooves to make 5 sizes of folding books or cards. The other side has 2 styles of flowers, 2 leaves, a bell, and 3 different styles of tags.
Here are a few projects I made using the embossing board from The Glitter Girls. Other products used are by Graphic 45 (patterned paper), Crafty Secrets Heartwarming Vintage (text and vintage cut-outs), Maya Road (chain closures & felt embellishments), Red Lead PaperWorks (bird charm) and Bazzill Basics (paper leaves). The doily is vintage.
The first project is a mini album. The embossing board served as a template for the album as well as for embossing all around the edges. To further enhance the embossing, it was lightly sanded as well. You could also ink the raised edges.
The tags were made using the embossing board as a template as well as to create the raised edges all around.
