I found these wooden trays at our local dollar store, Dollarama. They come in various sizes and are nesting. I was actually looking for something to display my clay art dolls in for a craft show I am doing with my Mom this Fall, but once I made them I started to think of them as a decor item. They would look great on the wall. You could display them all together or separately, but I like the look of them all together. You could put some of your favourite items in them to display like in a shadow box, or leave them plain. And, if you get tired of the paper background, change it out with the seasons! Another idea is to create scrapbook pages to fit the sizes of the trays and use them as frames for the wall.
Here is what you need:
- wooden trays (Dollarama, $1.50 each)
- adhesive (I used Scotch brand Adhesive Dot Roller and they stuck on perfectly)
- patterned paper (I used some of my favourite Graphic 45 papers that I had on hand)
- paper trimmer
All you need to do is cut the paper to size and glue it in and presto you are finished. Hang the trays on the wall and enjoy!

AMAZING!!!! You make me want to run to the dollar store to see if I can find these trays!!!!
This is a fabulous idea!! They look so pretty and fashionable. I'm going to link to this idea at Dollar Store Crafts! I wish I had a Dollarama!
Oh my God, so simple, so cheap, but really a great idea and very useful. Thanks for the tip!
