5 Great Scrapbooking Applications for the iPad

The iPad, besides being a popular e-reader and portable tool for the techno savvy, has now entered the world of scrapbooking. There are numerous applications that can help the busy scrapbooker on the go. Five of the best ones are listed here that can help a crafter to take the hobby on the go and to a whole new level.

Springpad

This free application offers the ability to save an eclectic variety of items, such as: barcodes, web searches and notes. For the busy scrapbooker, the best thing that it can save is photographs. It has an extremely user friendly interface that allows you to instantly categorize your photos that you want to save for your next scrapbooking project. You can even put in notes on ideas that you have. If you have taken a photo of an idea you see elsewhere, you can easily file it away here and pull it back up with ease. This application is a recent release on iTunes, but it is worth trying out for its ease of use.

ScrapPad

This is another essential application for the iPad scrapbooker. It allows the user to move pictures and place them on a page using a finger, add embellishments and add text to a scrapbook page. It also has additional options such as putting various frames around pictures and being able to mail out your page to friends and family. It organizes the various options for decorating a project page in an easy to find menu at the top of the application. You don't have to go down a long list to pick out an option, but can find it in a window and easily choose it. There is even the option to change the size of a shape or photo using your finders. You can also pick up a number of font options when working on your current project. This is a definite must for your iPad and will help you create eye catching scrapbook pages.

Moonboard Pro

This application is also versatile, giving the user the ability to design using photographs and images in a quick and efficient manner. You can create a unique color pallete for your project and add various text elements as well. You can also showoff your work to others by emailing them a sample of a page. This is an extremely useful design application that can help the scrapbooker organize, retrieve and use their favorite images for their scrapbook pages.

Photo Layout Finger Design

If you want a simple way to move your images around on the page, this is the application for you. If you want to add a unique element to your book, you can easily layout a collage of various pictures using your finger. The user can also change a photo or image size, rotate a photograph into a different position and create a work of art. This application does require that you use your own pictures for the projects.

OutColor

OutColor is a fantastic application for those who want to step up a scrapbook photograph to the next level. You can take a two dimensional photograph and alter it so that it has depth. It has numerous options that allow you to change the background, foreground, shadowing and the frame for the picture. The picture will end up with a three dimensional look due to the shadowing that gives it a real feel. If the scrapbooker wants to finish a project later, they can easily do so. It also doesn't matter if the picture is vertical or in a lanscape setting, as the application can easily handle both. This creative, engaging application is an excellent choice to step up the look of your page.

These applications are just some of the many that can be used with the iPad. They offer the user numerous ways to manipulate images and give boundless avenues for the creative mind. Taking advantage of them will make your projects more challenging and enjoyable. This post was brought to us from our friends at iPad Accessories.
