If you missed our first trendwatch post of 2010, please click here. This week we will be bringing you comments from scrapbooking industry professionals. Today's comments on trends for 2010 are from Sheila Daniels, of Cheeky Magpie.
"Scrapbooking changed a lof over the past two years. I look around and see big trend toward cross-over crafts. One of the most trendy cross-over crafts is needlecrafts. Embroidery and sewing have been popular on cards and scrapbooking for awhile now, but many crafters are thinking about sewing clothing, purses, and home fashions.
Prima is now offering a canvas line that includes an apron and a few bags for decorating and Basic Grey has five lines available in fabric. Nearly everone I know is doing a bit of sewing now. Even traditional scrapbooking supplies are taking a cue from the sewing trend. Maya Road created a line of mini chipboard shapes that include a sewing machine, hangers, scissors and dress forms. And there's no shortage of ideas in the blogosphere."
