Handmade Scrapbook Embellishments: Flowers

Recently we posted a tutorial on how to make polymer clay flower embellishments for scrapbooking.  Also, there were the crocheted flowers and also the yo-yo‘s… Now, we thought we’d show you some other flower embellishment ideas that would not be too difficult to make.  Hope you are as inspired as I am in seeing these!

On the Maya Road Design Team blog, you can see a tutorial by Lisa Pace for making ribbon strip flower embellishments and embellishing them with Maya Mist.  One photo is shown below.

Queen & Co. has a ribbon flower shown on their blog made by Leah.  She describes how she made it also. One photo is shown below.

Here’s a great idea on Craftster by Sarah Jane of The Crafteteria for turning coffee filters into roses.  There’s also a step-by-step photo tutorial and it’s an eco project too!  One photo is shown below.

Heather Nichols, of Pine is Here blog, shows a couple of ideas for making your own flower-shaped embellishments using paper and buttons.

Calamity Kim has a tutorial posted on how to make the "fold and twist " fabric flowers shown below.

Please explain how the coffee filter flowers are an eco-project? She doesn’t use USED filters – she buys BRAND NEW ones.

I’ve always liked making handmade flowers using paper — now I can experiment with other materials! =)

To me, eco scrapbooking can also incorporate repurposing something that you already may have around the house. :)

Love those coffee filter flowers. I may just have to make some for myself!
