Scrapbooking Trend – Matryoshka Dolls (& a Giveaway from Buzz & Bloom!)

** This Giveaway is Now Closed **

These colourful Russian nesting dolls, or Matryoshka dolls, are appearing all over fashion, home decor and in the crafting world.  I remember walking down a busy street in Ottawa with my mother when I was a small child, and seeing them in a shop window.  Ever since then, I’ve always wanted a set! Now they are becoming quite a popular theme!  Here are a few more spottings of this trend.

Read below for details on a giveaway from Buzz and Bloom!

A matryoshka patterned lampshade by Lillyberlin is available in her DaWanda shop.  A photo is shown at right.

Hero Arts has a stamp set with this theme as well.  See photo at left.

Inky Livie sells a set of baby shower cards with a matryoshka mother on the front.

Here is a digital download available through Revidevi’s Etsy shop for 3 sheets of matryoshka printable images.

You can get a handcarved matryoshka stamp from Craft Pudding here.  One photo is shown at right.  Or, another style from Baby Jewels.

Simona Montanari shows a layout, at left, she made which is embellished with a matryoshka felt doll that was an old Christmas ornament.

Buzz and Bloom has matryoshka laser cut / engraved chipboard designed by Lusi Austin available.  One photo is shown at right.  A layout example using these can be seen below left by Michelle Macdonald
