Feathers have been popping up around not just in the fashion and home decor world, but also in scrapbooking. And, not just bird feathers, but peacock
feathers as well. I also believe that we are going to see more of bows popping up in scrapbook layouts in the near future. Now, I don’t mean how we’ve traditionally been seeing bows – ribbons tied into a bow, but in a new and different way. They are everywhere in fashion and could be easily translated into a scrapbooking project for a cute girly look.

Here are some comments from Angela Daniels:
"My prediction, based mostly on the super cute new 8 x 8 acrylic stamps from Fiskars called "Plumage" (shown at left) is that we’re going to see more and more peacock designs. I
also noticed that BasicGrey also had a few peacock inspired designs in their new "Marrakech" line. (See photo at right.) My theory? -maybe it all started with the new Housewife (of Orange County TV fame) who wore the peacock feathered lingerie on a episode this season? I love it when two of my hobbies cross paths. In this case, tacky TV inspiring crafting? It’s just too good."
Danielle Thompson’s, Kitschy Details digital shop, has several different feather images available for scrapbookers. You can use them in digital scrapbooking or even print them and cut out for traditional or hybrid scrapbooking projects. (Photos below by Danielle Thompson and posted with permission.) Look for more project examples on Danielle’s Kitschy Details blog.
Photo at left shows
a layout done by Rita Weiss. Rita uses feathers as a backdrop to her photo giving it a soft look.
Check out all the hair bows in Elsie Flannigan’s Red Velvet Art shop. Elsie has also been including hair bows in a lot of her ‘girl’ paintings.
Sian Young made this
layout at right which is embellished with both a bow and feather.

I love that doodling is still a strong trend and I am hoping to get more artsy with that in my layouts. Feathers are looking pretty cool too!!
Feathers!! They have always garnered my attention – much more than bows or ribbon. Perhaps because they make such a grand statement or manybe because they are natural elements just as we are that they are so attractive.
Feathers and boas are always welcome in my craft room and I look for any excuse to use them. I had once made a great little coozie that had a pink feather boa around the top of it; a fashionable way to sip a Tab, don’t ya think?
Feathers (and peacocks) get my vote.
M…

Feathers and plumes are so cool! Could be used in so many ways…
My favorite trend is the recycle/reuse trend. I think it is the first smart step being taken in the industry in a long time.
I’d like seashells — there are some smaller, flatter type shells that are beautiful. Along with the shells, some “fake” seaweed would be great – just small tendrils

I really want to try and start doing my pages with more handmade embellishments. I bought some crochet hooks yesterday, and plan on making some crocheted flowers. I also learned how to make lollipop flowers. I bought some felt so I can blend the two trends. This stamp set is awesome. I really love that the peacock is goint to be a trend setter this year. They are beautiful majestic creatures, and can you imagine the colors that you could use with these. Thank you so much for the opportunity.
