I am very excited about the melding of fabric and or canvas into
scrapbooking. These are materials that I personally love to work with. Using them in scrapbooking allows a lot of mixed media play and helps make the scrapbooker into an artiste!
Please read below for details on the giveaway!
Last year, Claudine Hellmuth released a line of materials with Ranger Industries which included "Sticky-Back Canvas." Here is a quote from Claudine’s site about the product, "
It’s a self-adhesive canvas sheet that you can decorate with paints, inks and dyes, then cut out and stick onto canvasses, cards, scrapbook pages and more.Works with manual die cutting systems too!" Claudine is giving away one 5 piece 8 1/2" x 11" pack to a ScrapScene reader! Details are below.
** Edited to add a note from Claudine in the comments, in case you missed it: "you can run the Sticky Back Canvas through your inkjet printer to print photos on it!"
We have been seeing a lot from Donna Downey using fabrics. This CHA show (Winter 2009), she came out with a product line of fabric scrapbooking materials with Prima Marketing. (See photo at left.)
Here are some comments from Corinne Delis:
"I think we will see more vintage prints and images coming in 2009. I also see no stop yet with the birds, houses and other animals for that matter people still think they are cute. I also think that there will be looked to ways to incorperate other crafts into scrapbooking. We have already seen that fabric is coming up and I think this is just the beginning."
Also, below, check out a couple of sneak peeks of some mini book projects we have instructions to in ScrapScene’s Mini Book Projects eBook.
Jessica Summers
made the layout at left on the back of a canvas frame. It is really a 3D shadow box layout!
Nathalie Kalbach made the artwork shown at right by painting on canvas with acrylic paint and applying Hambly rub-ons. Look closely at that owl and the tree! You can learn more about her technique here and also view more photos.

I have never used this on a layout before, but I love to experiment with different elements on my pages and your always picking up new tips and tricks when your a a scrapper.
But I would love to give it a try.
I’ve never tried it nor have I seen it, in real life. Can’t wait to see the Donna Downey tags in the stores.
I haven’t tried Claudine’s product because I’m here in Brazil and I never saw them. I scrapbooked on canvas twice!!! I LOVED!!!! I made one with photos and another one for notes!!!!
Kisses
I’ve seen so many wonderful projects made with the sticky back canvas and I can’t wait to try some. I haven’t seen them at my local craft stores. I’ve used fabric on layouts, and I’ve painted on canvas and included it in a mini album. It’s an awesome addition to paper crafting!
I have never had the opportunity to try the products. Actually I have not been scrapping since July and have just now made my return. This is one of the things I am really wanting to try!
I have actually not yet tried her product, but I have been wanting to do so. I have done mixed media collages on canvas, but I wouldn’t call it “scrapbooking.” I do love incorporating fabric into my work, though!
i haven’t seen her products anywhere aroun here yet, but i would love to try out that canvas. i have scrapped on canvas before and i love that it holds up to a lot of ink, paint, and layers. i have used fabric in my layouts, does that count?!!
I’ve never tried the sticky back canvas because I didn’t know the existence of it!! I scrapbooked on canvas once, I made a wall hanging for a friend of mine.
Thanks for this giveaway!
I have never heard of this product, but I would love to try it.
Fabulous projects with this amazing product. I would to be the lucky stamper to play with this fabric on my projects. Thanks so much for a chance.
My first blending of canvas and scrapping was in a Donna Downey Class. I have been hook since then and love all the choices that are out there.
Took a class from Claudine at CHA Summer and loved everything we did. The canvas is amazing!
I only heard about this product recently and haven’t had a chance to try it out. I’ve made some collaged wall hangings with canvas board in the past and feel that the this new product would add a lot of texture and dimension to scrapbook projects!
I do love working with fabric on my projects but have never tried any of Claudine’s products.. I hope I win so I can try them… Thanks for the chance.
Hello… I haven’t tried this product but it seems to be great to try and work with. I’ve seen many projects using fabric and have always thought of using it but haven’t yet. I hope I win the giveaway! Thanks for the chance.
I have not tried this product but I would love to! I have been admiring Donna Downey’s and others projects using this stuff and have been truly wowed!
i have not tried claudine’s sticky back canvas yet, but i have printed journaling and photos onto duck cloth that has been ironed onto freezer paper and then fed into my printer. i love the look of the printing onto the fabric. can’t wait to get some of claudine’s product to play with it!!
thanks for the great giveaway!
Haven’t used the sticky back canvas yet…can’t wait to try.
I have been lucky enough to take several of Donna Downey’s classes, the most recent being her BLOOM class, which incorporates fabric into a 12 X 6ish book. It was awesome! I have a habit of picking up fabrics for scrapbooking, and not using them . . . yet!! I would love to get my hands on this sticky back canvas.
I’ve just begun to experiment with canvas. It’s fun! But a little intimidating!
i’m in the minority…i’ve NEVER used fabric on my layouts! but, winning some would DEFINITELY encourage me to!
I haven’t used canvas yet, but LOVE the look of it. I was so inpired by Donna D. book I have to make one! I love the look of the projects.
Can’t wait to get my hands on some!
I’ve used fabric on cards a lot….but not canvas yet. I wonder if it would go through my printer???? I’d love to try.
I’ve been wanting to try Claudine’s products, ever since I first heard about them…! I use fabric on my layouts every now and then, and I’m really looking forward to seeing Prima’s new fabric products IRL!
I have not gotten to try fabric or canvas much yet. I saw the sticky back canvas at summer 08 CHA and loved it. Can’t wait to try it out.
Wow – I am totally loving the idea of using canvas in my layouts. Haven’t tried it yet, but would love to. Thanks for the chance to win some so I can give it a go!
I have never tried Claudine’s products but I was given a pack of “fabric” paper before and was at a completel loss on how to use it, at first. I personally like to use the paper as accents, as well as cut out shapes, etc.
I have used canvas in stamping and scrapbooking as well as done a Donna Downey fabric kit book but unfortunately have not ventured into the mixed media world and would love to get a jump start on it…I have already heard tons of positive reviews on Claudine’s Studio products and this sticky canvas looks like a product I would love to play with.
Thank you for the giveaway!!! Maybe I’ll get lucky this time…
I’ve never used canvas before but I’m really curious about it and I would love to try some.

i’ve never tried scrapping on fabric canvas
I have used fabric in scrapbooking but I have never used canvas. This product sounds *fantastic* and I would love to expand my comfort zone and give it a try!
Crossing my fingers…..
So glad to be featured on Scrap Scene for the giveaway. I just wanted to also mention that you can run the Sticky Back Canvas through your inkjet printer to print photos on it!
I think this is a perfect way to add some mixed media to my scrapping. I have looked around for it but have yet to locate any locally. I would love to win and try it, especially with the new paints. They are the most true to color paints, the look like what you are seeing, and so thick and decadent. Love them!
I have never used canvas in scrapbooking but would love to b/c of its great texture. Scrapping a canvas (the framed thing) is high on my to do list…
Fabric is one of my first loves and I try to incorporate it in to LO when ever I can. I am thrilled that it is making its way into mainstream more and more.
I haven’t tried this yet, but I’d LOVE to!!!
I have heard a lot of good things about the sticky back canvas but have yet to try it. I just watched a video about using it the other day on illustrated.com http://vimeo.com/3107777 and it looks great to work with. I’ve seen a lot of very cool samples done with both Claudine’s sticky back canvas and the new prima collection on their sites. All are awesome and I can’t wait to give it a try myself.
I have never tried canvas fabric. It looks like a lot of fun though. Jen Harrison.
Love scrapbooking with fabric! I’ve made fabric books, wall quilts with photos, etc. I also really like the sticky-back canvas. Very fun to use!
have become a Claudine´s fan after reading one of her books, haven´t tried canvas yet but will be trilled to give it a try
I love mixed media collage, art journals, ATCs, fabric jewelry, embroidery, painting on canvas, etc. and a follower of Ms. Claudine’s blog, hoping one of these giveaways for her sticky back canvas I’ll win! Perhaps this is the one? I hope so!
Thanks for the chance!
I LOVE Claudine’s StickyBack canvas, it’s one of my favorite products! You can do soo much with it! I can’t wait to get my hands on Donna’s product line.
I LOVE Claudine’s StickyBack canvas, it’s one of my favorite products! You can do soo much with it! I can’t wait to get my hands on Donna’s product line.
My fingers are crossed….
I have made scrapbook pages on regular canvases and also used fabric in my scrapbooks. It would be great to be able to print pictures on the Sticky backed canvas and then use them in my scrapbooks. I am all about TEXTURE. That is why digital scrapbooking would never be for me.
Would love a chance to have a play, it looks brilliant. Can it be cut on the Cricut????
Thanks for the chance
I have never used fabric in my layouts, but I enjoy sewing and have scraps that I’ve always thought would work well. Sticky backed canvas is even better!
I want to try out Claudine’s product so bad! So many wonderful project ideas floating around the web about it, I can’t wait to try it out!
hi,
i`m new to scrapbooking and i did not tried it out yet.
thank you for the chance to win!
I haven’t used canvas on a layout or in a book, but I would love to try.
I’ve used fabric in on my projects but never as a backing. I’d love to give this stuff a try
I can’t wait to try this product. Hope I win!!
This sounds fantastic. I would love to try scapbooking on canvas. Seems like a perfect fit.
I haven’t used her products yet but I’ve heard great things about them! I have however made some embellishments using canvas paper
I have seen this products at many places, but I have not attempted to do anything with it. I have seen many fabulous crafts done with it though!
i’ve been lusting after this canvas since i saw claudine do a demo on youtube. it looks great!
I first used fabric for paper crafting about 7 years ago, when I used iron-on interfacing to stick fabric to cards. Since then, I’ve used it in place of ribbon, used it to cover mini albums, used it to cover entire pages, and used it as an embellishment for layouts. I also did a BasicGrey class once where we made a canvas shadow-box LO – it was supposed to be in Boxer but I did it in Phoebe for my DD and it turned out so cute!
Would like to try this, since I both paint and make books. Very interesting.
I really like the shadow-box effect without actually using a shadow box. I haven’t tried the stickyback canvas, but have been hearing so much about it that I am really interested in the product. Your mini book project sounds like fun, too!
I’ve read great things about this product on many blogs. Would love to try it out for myself!!!
I started using canvas and doing LO in canvas last year. I have a lot of them, different sizes and colors. I have made a lot of proyects to give as presents, calendars, etc.
I have been so anxious to get my hands on this product…along with the yummy paints she released but haven’t found it here in Mtl, Canada yet…I love the tactile and textural aspect fabric lends itself to scrapbook LO’s and projects.
I have been wanting to try this out. Thanks for the chance to win.
i have done a few wall canvases and absolutely LOVE them–get tons of compliments too! would love to try claudines sticky backs!
I have not tried this sticky back canvas yet but would love to try it,, I have heard rave reviews about it..thanks for a chance to win some…great..

This stuff is so cool! I would love to try it out. Pick me! Pick me!
This sounds like a fantastic product! I have worked with fabric and canvas before but not to add to my pages. I’m definitely going to give this a try. thank you for sharing.
I’ve used some of her paints. The colors are gorgeous & I love her templates for mixing colors. I love watering them down and painting with them that way too. I’ve been trying to get my hands on some canvas… but it sells out everywhere so quick! I’d LOVE a chance at winning some! Thanks so much!
I am still anxiously awaiting for the stores around here to catch up with the rest of the world. Sigh. I would love a chance to try it.
I’m thrilled with the fabric additions to the paper crafts scene!
I haven’t tried the sticky-backed canvas, but I love using fabric and felt in my projects. Adds another great texture!
I LOVE CLAUDINE’s StickyBACK!
Can’t get enough of it – I have used it in a pattern of mine. Please see my blog
I love Claudine’s work and can’t wait to try her canvas- esp to run through the printer and print a photo on it to then work into a collage!
I enjoy using fabric in my crafts and scrapbooking-I feel it gives a very warm feeling to the artwork. Matte multi medium, found in art stores and also produced by Claudine is great for gluing the fabric-doesn’t leave it all ‘gluey’!
I’m really eager to try Claudine’s sticky-back canvas. I just bought some of her brushes which I’ve heard lots of good comments about (their durability, no hairs, good quality). Thanks for this offer!
Love Claudine’s work! Was lucky enough to do a make-n-take with her at CHA. A tiny house with sticky canvas!
Susan
I just got some of her brushes, gesso and gloss. I have not played with it all yet, but I have heard great things about her line and can’t wait to get “dirty”. Thank you for another awesome chance at a giveaway!
Never have used fabric or canvas to scrapbook but would love to try!!
I haven’t tried this product yet, but I did work with canvas before! I think it’s awesome that there will be more fabric in the art of scrapbooking!
I have been so interested in learning how to work with this material in my scrapbooking! Would love to win such a cool giveaway!
I have actually never scrapbooked on fabric or canvas, but it looks like fun.
~Amber~
I’ve been wanted to give this a try. Please enter me in the giveaway! Thanks!
Have not tried it yet – but really, really want too – would be fun for a project. Just really heard about it.
I’ve made scrapbook “pages” on canvas before, but I would LOVE to work with this canvas. I haven’t seen it yet in a local retailer! Thanks!
Great giveaway!
I keep reading about this awesome product and can’t wait to get my hands on some. I think painting, stamping and sewing canvas onto layouts and cards would be so beautiful!
Would love to win this!!!

Thanks for the cool giveaway.
Ooh, I love Claudine’s idea of running her canvas through the printer. I haven’t tried the canvas yet, but I’d like to. I’ve decorated a couple of regular canvases w/ paint and sb’ing supplies for my kids.
i’ve never tried it but i sure hope i can especially if i win. thanks for a chance to play.
I am into altered art and create books, canvases, and other odds and ends. I have been DYING to try Claudine’s Sticky Canvas…but no Michael’s (or other stores) near me carry it (BOO!) SOooooooooooooo, PICK ME! PICK ME! And I PROMISE to do something SWELL with it!
I have just recently found out about sticky backed canvas. I am anxious to try the product. I have worked a little bit on fabric. I have combined fabric and paper with some sewing. I often use material for pattern and especailly texture. I love using burlap because of its texture and the ability to play with the fibers (warp and weft).
I have not tried this product from Claudine yet, but other things with her name have always been high quality. I use canvas in mixed media, for book covers, and I have done floor cloths, but not in scrapbooking, yet!!
I haven’t tried this yet, but I’d love to! Thanks for the chance!
It’d be fun to be able to play with this!
Man it just looks sooooo gorgeous and I just know that this is something that will prob not reach Australia
I think i tis brilliant!! What an awesome idea!

I did get to try out Claudine’s products at CHA 2009. Her paints are lucious, and the sticky back canvas is something fun and new to use. I, too, noticed the use of fabrics in scrapbooking. I think it’s a nice addition to the textures we use.
Yes, I have scrapped on canvas. It is very different and not easy! The end result is very effective! With more practice I am sure it could become addictive!
I have never tried this product before, but I sure have some ideas on what to do with it… I have tried “scrapping” on canvas before and it has been a lot of fun

I’m keeping my fingers crossed!
I would love to win Claudine Hellmoth’s sticky back canvas! Pick me!!
OMGosh this is such an exciting prospect. I have not yet used any of Claudine’s new product line, nor scrapbooked on fabric or canvas. Would love to be entered and maybe even be lucky enough to win, so I can get my feet wet.
i HAVE used fabric on my scrapbook pages before and using a sticky backed fabric is something I would definitely try. Using adhesive is tricky with fabric, especially if you want to retain the same softness
I’ve used canvas paper to print photos before, but the sticky stuff sounds great – very practical – lots of applications for LOs and cards going through my brain already!! My Cuttlebug is dying to get its mitts on this product!
Have never used this sticky-back canvas on a layout, but would LOVE to experiment! Always looking for new ideas, nothing like it to get those creative juices flowing!

I have never used fabric on my layouts, but last time I saw a whole album made out of fabric. So cool, that is a technique I definitively are willing to try.
I’ve never used canvas in a scrapping layout, but I have used it in other crafting projects. I’ve printed photos on canvas and applied to totebags, and I’ve printed photos on canvas to frame-beautiful. Works extremely well with vintage sepia prints.

What a wonderful give away! I love Claudine and her products! I would never have thought to use the sticky back canvas for a shadowbox. I love the owl too!
