Giveaway: 8 Books from Laura Childs!

** This Giveaway is Now Closed **

Laura Childs is giving away 8 autographed copies of her latest novel, Eggs in Purgatory  (A Cackleberry Club Mystery) to 8 different ScrapScene readers!  Please keep reading for details of the giveaway.

Laura Childs is the author of Death Swatch: A Scrapbooking Mystery which we posted a review about here several months ago.

We recently read Ms. Childs’ latest book, Eggs in Purgatory. This book just hit #1 on the Mystery Booksellers Bestseller List!  In reading this mystery, you will soon find yourself enamoured by the 3 forty-plus women who run the Cackleberry Club.  The Cackleberry Club is a unique shopping and dining experience containing a "Book Nook," restaurant, and a "Knitting Nest," where crafts of all kind take place.  The mystery surrounds main character, Suzanne, who finds herself in the wrong place at the wrong time.  Her sleuthing ways land her in trouble on more than one occasion!  I loved reading the delicious descriptions of menu items served at the Cackleberry Club, plus I was delighted to see that the actual recipes are also included!  A good read that will leave you anxiously waiting for another installment with these characters!

To qualify for 1 of 8 copies of Eggs in Purgatory please comment to this post.  We haven’t asked this in awhile, so please tell us what is on your nightstand.  What are you reading right now or what is next on your list of must-reads?  We will leave comments open until Friday, February 20th/09.  8 winners will be selected via an online number generator and announced on Saturday, February 21st.

    What a fun book!

My night stand consists of the book I am currently reading (in the Dark-Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon), chap stick, ear plugs (I’m a light sleeper!), lotion, a lamp, Hello Kitty figurines and pictures of my hubby. My next read is the next book in the Dark-Hunter series: Acheron.

I’ve only just discovered Laura Childs and put her books on my list to look for. I long ago stopped having my own night stand – it was a hazzard! When traveling I still pile up the books, magazines, pen/paper, water cup, tea or coffee mug, Kleenex, candle, channel changer/tv guide and of course reminders of “first things to do in the am”. My next read is “The Friday Night Knitting Club”.

I have “breaking dawn” the fourth book of the twilight series on my bedside… and I’ll admit it, it’s been there for about four weeks, untouched!! I’ve been too sick with morning sickness to even WANT to find out what happens to Bella at the end!

I’m currently reading “Very Valentine” by Adriana Trigiani, about a young woman who is an apprentice in her grandmother’s customer wedding shoe shop…and next in line is “Echoes” by Maeve Binchy OR MAYBE, “Egges in Purgatory”, if I’m lucky! :)

I’m reading 2 books currently. One is a serious book title “The Theology of the Body (in teens version)” and the other one for inspiration is “Taking Flight” by Kelly Rae Roberts. Just started reading these 2 books last evening and I already love it!!!
