Handmade Christmas Card a Day – Day 43

Day 43’s card design for our Handmade Christmas Card a Day posts is by Dawn Ivey!  Visit Dawn’s blog here to see more of her work.  Also, check out her Etsy shop, "Dutchess of Excess."  To see Dawn’s previous featured card, please click here.

We are winding down with this series… only a few more left to post.  See them all here.  Hopefully you’ve been inspired by this feature.  Did you make handmade cards this year?  If you did, send us a link and we’ll link up to them in a future post.

1)  Cut cardstock to 9" x 4 1/2".  Score at 4 1/2" and fold.
2)  Cut patterned paper (stripe) to 4 1/8" x 3 1/2 and (word print) to 3 3/4" squared.
3)  Adhere word print to stripe.
4)  Cut ribbon & tie into a bow.  Using twine/hemp, tie a button around the bow then tape the right side of ribbon to underside of patterned papers.  Adhere to cardstock base.
5)  Glue die-cut snowflake to top of button, adding a rhinestone & then gluing entire ribbon/button ensemble to card.
6)  Glue "joy" to top of journaling sheer, adding sticker letters for "Christmas."
7)  Glue to top of card, adding a rhinestone star to top of tree.
