Decorating for Christmas with Scrappy Hangings

Here’s a neat idea to give your place a festive look at Christmas-time. I used the cutest vintage-looking stamps from Red Lead PaperWorks as a basis for these wall hangings.  You could even give them away as gifts or hang them on the tree!  Here’s how they were made:

1. Stamp the image on card stock.  Here is where you can find the stamps used in the examples shown: Guardian Angel, Skating Elves, Up on the Housetop, and Winter Puppy Love.

2. Use watercolour pencils (art supply store) to colour in the designs.  Use a wet paintbrush to blend.

3. Add Stickles (Ranger) to the image. Ink the edges with a stamp pad.

4. Mount on coordinating card stock and patterned paper.

5. Add ribbons, trim and sequins from Maya Road.

6. Glue on vintage flowers (flea market) and leaves (dollar store).  Add a decorative hat pin and charms and bells (Red Lead PaperWorks). Decorative brads from Creative Imaginations.

7. Use a Crop-a-Dile (We R Memory Keepers) to punch two holes in the top and insert in eyelets.

8. Tie ribbon (Maya Road) through holes and hang!
