We stumbled across the blog of Maddy Hill recently after reading that she had won a contest at Crafts Beautiful magazine. The contest was to make a project inspired by a fairy tale. Maddy made a "Cinderella’s Castle," one photo of which is shown at left.
Maddy’s work is so detailed and intricate. Her work is also interesting to me because she uses a medium which I am enjoying playing in so much lately: polymer clay! She makes and uses polymer clay embellishments in many of her pieces. At left is a tree embellishment she made using a rubber stamp and polymer clay. (Click here to see a tutorial on how to make it.)
Maddy also incorporates stamping techniques and intricate paper cuttings set to create depth in her artwork.
Maddy Hill lives in Leeds, United Kingdom. Take a look here to see more of her work.
