Lisa Mitchell is this week’s featured Designer for our "Inspired By" series. For past features in this series, please click here.
Lisa is a Canadian living in Spain with her family. Looking at her work you can see a real artistic bent. Lisa loves to use many different materials in her scrapbook layouts including alcohol inks, paint, wax and canvas
along with interesting techniques like resist, encaustic and collage.
Shown here are a few samples of Lisa’s work. At left is a page from an acrylic
album which was inspired by the work of Gloria Froese. Click here to see the rest of the album.
At right is a wooden box and matching album decorated by Lisa.
All of the stamps were done using the designs found in plastic lace doillies from a dollar store, like the roses and the mesh-like textures in between. Lisa even added her own special touch to an organza flower on top of the box – she distressed it by burning the edges with a candle! (Now, don’t try this at home!)
