Essential weekend supplies: Self-healing mat, scissors, lots of glue sticks, paper trimmer. I like to theme up my paper, embellishments, and accessories for the weekend and just see what happens with a little bit of selection.
that looks wonderful, what a great set up.
This place looks great! As far as the essentials…well, I always have trouble with that! I try to pack EVERYTHING! LOL! I would say that my trimmer, scissors, adhesives, CropADile, and photos are the essentials along with lots and lots of cardstock and papers! Although, I always end up needing something I didn’t pack! LOL!
I have never been to a crop so I’m not really sure which supplies are essential! I am interested to see other people’s responses to this question.
My essential supplies: My tool tote which contains all the basics: scissors, knife, punches, heat tool, markers, ruler, crop-a-dile. One of the other essentials would be my camera!
i don’t live very far from here! this looks like fun, i am going to have to forward this to my scrappy friends in the area!
my essentials are my pp and cs tote, neurtal stamp colors, trimmer, adhesives, pencil, bl sharpie and a tote of embellies! oh and shelves for my desk!
your place looks fab!looks like alot of creativity happens there!
my essential crop supplies are my trimmer, cutter bee sciccors, lots of adhesive, and coordinating papers and embellies i put in a homemade kit so that i just pull the whole kit out to scrap and spend less time searching through my bag…thanks for a chance to win that cool kit! –jen t.(mjk02@comcast.net)

Trimmer, scissors, and TONS of adhesive! Oh, and plenty of sweet tea lol.
I’ve never been to a scrapbooking retreat ever… but I guess it would be just like a usual crop 3x bigger! So I think bring supplies that you think would get you through the whole retreat. Plan it well beforehand, choose your photos to scrap and have them printed/developed prior to the retreat. Mix and match papers and embellishments so you don’t have to bring everything. Keep your planned layouts simple BUT meaningful. Bring lots of adhesives.. and money lol!
Of course, let your husband and children know where you are going hehe
One of the most needed thing to pack in your tote bag is a paper trimmer!!
Lovely place and very homey. The things I bring when i attend a crop session are: Basic Grey self-healing magnetic mat (can’t scrap w/out it), paper trimmer, scissors, diamond glaze, different kinds of adhesives, making memories tool kit, pps & cs that matches the photos i’m planning to scrap, some embellishments and my colorbox inkpad.
For me, the most essential supplies to take to a crop, besides the basics tools (scissors, glue, paper, etc.), I’d say it’s the embelishments… These are the ones that help take the page to the next level… the little details. And in my short experience, these are the ones I’ve always end up missing or not having enough when away from my scraproom.
By the way… this place is great… thanks Hamburg Hideaway personnel for the opportunity to know the place and for this giveaway. I already subscribed to the blog. I don’t live nearby but I will take into consideration for a future activity.
papertrimmer, scissors, glue, pen’s edgescraper, brown stampingpad
I would have to bring a camera! There are to many creative and inspiring projects to capture. Then it would be my tote with scissors, trimmer, glue, papers, cardstock, ink, embellishments, or and you can’t forget your adorable pictures. Really I have to try and fit my room in it, but it never works. Thanks for a chance.
Most essential to me is my scissors and my glue! I’m just getting started in scrapbooking and can see how this can just grow and grow. I’m loving it!
Thanks so much for the giveaway, it looks wonderful!
My must haves would be….my circle punch, a ton of PAPER, my camera(don’t leave home without it) and ribbon.
My basic tool kit which is not basic anymore it has one of anything that willfit IE scissors, tape runner, refills, glue, diamond glaze cropadial, glue dots, raised glue dots, stapler, staples, baby wipes etc. all minuture style, paper trimmer, mat, camera, pen, colorbox inkpads. small pack of pictures and paper. Then if need for along trip out comes the cart
FRIENDS, atg, extra adhesive rolls, zip dry, ink, prisma pencils, tortillon’s, copic’s, stamps, kits premade/bought or I put together, scissors, paper trimmer, camera, big bite, stickles, ribbon, skittles, bling, pictures, flowers, ruler, files, journaling pen..
Looks great, like a fun place… Good luck…..

I Scrap So All Moments Are Remembered!!
I would bring my scissors, knife, glue, pens, markers, some paper and cardstock, ruler, paint, paintbrushed and some embellishments.
What an awesome place!! I could have so much fun there. As far as essentials for a crop——I too have a hard time with that–I always think I need to take everything I own just in case!!! That may be one of the reasons I don’t attend many crops–just easier for me to scrap at home. But, when I do go, I need my ever-ready basic tote which includes lots of adhesives/refills, chalk/ink pads, trimmer, scissors, crop-a-dile, pens/pencils, eraser, baby wipes, snacks, stapler, staples, exacto knife, bone folder and ziplock baggies. In addition I would need lots of cardstock, patterned paper, and pictures.
Thanks for the chance to win!
I have been to a scrapbook retreat a couple of times and have absolutely loved it! I would recomend bring all your photos and packing up a variety of “kits” whether they are pre-packaged from a kit club or put together yourself. Don’t bring “kits” that all have the same basic feel to them – instead mix it up – different styles and colors. Bring plenty of adhesive, lots of embellishments, and all your cutting tools. Most retreats have die cut machines so if your ok with using thiers, I would leave yours at home. Thanks for the opportunity to let me give my opinion. Enjoy the retreat girls! It is so much fun!!!
I would bring my already figured out layout sketches, cutterpede, scissors, adhesives, assortment of papers with embellishments for preplanned pages, and of course my photos.
Just like everyone else I would want to bring everything. You just never know what your going to need – regardless of what is accessible to you. I would put adhesive, scissors, a paper trimmer and any other basic items I constantly use – maybe a few punches, ribbon, stickers… maybe even a few paper piecing patterns.
my trimmer, adhesive, corner rounder,scissors-plus various papers and embellishments
How fun would a retreat be?! My essentials would include a wide variety of photos, papers and embellishments. My trimmer, scissors and adhesives.
~ Wow ~ The question should be what would you not want to bring because that list is shorter! LOL
Definitely need ribbons and buttons~ Anything that is unique that would be hard to find anywhere else. Lots of flowers and chipboard stuff.
Me I wouldn’t want to leave with out my good scissors and my cutting mat.
My book of inspirational quotes and titles, and a good book to draw inspiration from.
Thanks!
((hugs)) Mechelle
Lots of pictures. Photo trimmer and scissors are a must. And my favorite adhesives.
I have trouble with this issue. I always tend to bring to much, but if I had to choose only three items…..
first and most important is an exacto or other trimmer, ruler and adhesive.
A PLAN!!! If I go to a crop without a good plan I don’t get any work done. I do best if I make up my own little kit with my sketch, photos, papers, and embellies ahead of time.
Your place looks wonderful. I have never gone to a crop or retreat but am sure I would bring too much. Sounds like you have some great essentials.
Love the retreat location idea. Need to find a way for individual’s (not just a group) to reap the benefits too. — For crops, I always take too much, but the best for me is to prepare kits before hand. I choose photos, papers, embellishments & kit them. Always bring your basics: adhesiveS (yes plural), markers (also helps to color stamps if you didn’t bring the right ink), paper trimmer, scissors, sandpaper, eyelet setter, etc.
The retreat house looks so awersome! As far as essential go – definitely must have a paper trimmer, scissors, a paper piercer, glue dots, adhesive, chalk inks, pencil and eraser and of course lots of paper and photos.
The facility loks wonderful! Basic tool kit: adhesives(wet and dry), ink, crocodile, scissors, trimmer, corner rounder, sandpaper, various pens/pencils, stapler, various punches, ruler, glue dots, plus paer, photos, and embelishments!
I would definitely love to be the winner!!! On a retreat, I always need my photos, patterned papers, cardstock, tombow mono adhesive, cutter bee scissors, creative memories 12×12 trimmer, inks for distressing, embellishments like bling, brads, and eyelets etc, crop-a-dile, black & white journaling pen, glue dots, sandpaper block. I hope I didn’t forget anything!!! Have a blessed day, Carrie
i would say these are my essentials: scissors, adhesive, photos, ruler, pencil, pps and cardstock, inks, stamps and flowers. i woudl prefer a kit though.
thanks for a chance to play.
I think the most important items to bring along are a good scissors, adhesive and your favorite photos! Thanks for considering me in your contest.
I’m traveling now and have to say I can’t travel without my tonic scissors, my trimmer, 2 corner rounders, a box of pens/writers, 3-4 Stickles, 3-4 chalks, a pack of plain cardstock, a travel pack of PPs and a pack of misc embellishments. If I’m traveling, I try to pack kits so that I travel light & things are already coordinated. May bring 1 pack of developed pictures related to the papers.
This place looks fantastic !!! – what a cool idea – we need one here !!! – My essentials are pp, ribbon & bling, oh and an OTP project.
I not long attended my first retreat, and had a blast!!
you really need your tools, basic tools, BUT you need the CHOCOLATE!! and some girls had some drinkies, I didnt even think about Drinkies, had a YUMMY cocktail while I was there! OH and ear plugs, if you get snorers in your room too!! BUT most of all your sence of humour!
Besides taking everything and the kitchen sink LOL – Essentials for me are mat, paint, black pen, white pen, my guillotine (not a trimmer girl), stampin up! stamps, white craft ink pad, peanut M&Ms
, tearing ruler, black and white 12 x 12 bazill linen, punch, double sided tape, glue, stapler, craft knife, jotting paper, chipboard, – ohhhhh I could go on forever
I would be sure to bring my trimmer, MM Ribbon Glue, gluestick, Bazzill CS and patterned paper. Also, scissors and an adesive remover, plus my photo splits and opage protectors. Would LOVE to win this prize! WOW! Great post, BTW, loved all the pix!
Trimmer, ATG 700, kits made up ready to scrap when I get there. I like to pre-make kits (or the kits I’ve bought and never used), then I don’t have to spend most of the time trying to figure out what picture to use, pp, embellies, etc. Plus it gives me more time to visit and chat w/ everyone else without being so absorbed into my creating….
what a cool place for a retreat ! My baisc items would be scissors, adhesives, photos, pattern paper and lots of flowers.
As I don’t usually use a lot of embellishments on my pages, I don’t carry a lot. I prepare a kit including some papers, buttons, flowers, some die cuts, and scissors and adhesives. Great giveaway!
I have never been to a crop, but I think the best way to prepare would be to make page kits ahead of time. Then I would only need to add the essential tools.
I would bring my scrapping tote full of basic supplies like my paper trimmer, glue sticks, pencil, ruler, hole punches, etc. Lot’s of PP and embellies to go with my pictures.
Thanks so much for the chance to win!
Paper trimmer, cardstock, photos, adhesive, pen, embellishments
What a beautiful venue! When I go to a crop, I always back my basic tool kit (including trimmer), my stamps and ink pads, embellishments, and pictures (not a good thing to forget those
. I usually don’t pack paper, since it’s an inexpensive item to shop for during the crop.
I usually pack my basic tools – paper trimmer, adhesives, scissors, chocolate, paper and other embellishments. Alos can’t forget the photographs that I plan to scrap. But I also bring cash, since there are always vendors on-site and I always seem to purchase what they have instead of using the stuff I actually brought. Thanks for the opportunity to win something.

Planned pages and alphabets (stickers & rub-ons) and lots of adhesive
I must have my own basic tools such as scissors, trimmer and cutting mat, even if these are offered at the venue. Adhesives and one or two basic colored-inks for edging and distressing papers. Other things, I’ll buy on the spot if sorely needed, or else I’ll make do without.
When I go to a crop I have to have a friend or 2 with me. I usually try to preplan and take page kits along with adhesive and all the other basic tools and som extra embellishments and photos.
Essentials: Photos, Journaling Pen, some Paper, Glue, Scissors, Alphabet, one Stamp set and, most importantly, Chocolate.
Looks like such a great time!!
This sounds like a little piece of scrapping nirvana:)
Next time I am heading out your way, I will see if I can bring some friends too!
My essentials would be glue tape, scissors, trimmer, inks, photos and patterned paper. All the basics I need to create a layout.
You mean you don’t take EVERYTHING with you to a crop!? I so rarely scrap away from home that when I do go to a crop, I usually take just about everything I have. I am going to a day crop at a local scrap retreat this weekend and I am going to try something new… take supplies for a few specific projects/calls so I know in advance what I am going to try to get done. Hope it works!!!
Oh this looks wonderful.
My essentials are a self healing mate, tape runner and lots of refills, crop a dile, inks, stamps, cardstock, pattenr paper, ribbon, flowers, brads and especially importatnt are the photos.

Can’t leave home without them: crop-a-dile, cardstock, scissors, adhesives (several different kinds), tweezers, bone folder, a few shades of chalk ink, and most importantly preplanned page kits with patterned paper, pics, journaling notes, embellies, ribbon, buttons, brads, etc.
Awesome looking venue!.
I always take Scissors, trimmer, cutting mat, adhesive, photos, papers, embellishments & my crop’a'dile.
And last but not least my camera for all the memories to scrap later
This sounds so great. Maybe I’ll have to change my vacation plans!
I would have to have my sketches, patterned paper, glue sticks and 15lbs of chipboard!
I’ve never even been to a crop…but I’d love to go to the Hamburg Hideaway for a weekend. If that were the case..I’d pack some fun PJ’s for starters. Let’s see…my glue runner with lots of refills, my cutting mat, my scissors and exacto knife are definate take alongs. So that I know that I’d get some scrapping done, I’d probably bring several page kits with photos to match up with them. Best wishes on your new venue!
Apart from the usual scrapping supplies for pre-planned projects, I would take several bottles of Coke and some chocolate of course! The last thing I want to do on a retreat is sleep!!!
When going to a scrapbook retreat, crop or event, what would you say are the most essential supplies to bring along with you in your scrapbooking tote?
Besides chocolate & caffeine, my paper trimmer, glue dots, wet adhesive, adhesive runner & backups. My microtip scissors are a must as well. Everything else I can buy at the crop or event.
Your retreat facility looks marvelous!
What’s in my scrapbooking bag? Scissors, adhesives, stickers, tape, glue, trimmers, inks, photos and papers. I use almost everything I can get my hands on and I would love to win this prize ..
Thank you for the great offer!
Photos – lots of photos would be a must – I really can’t do this make a page and the pictures later thing. It just doesn’t work for me. Apart from that my X Cut essentials – mat, knife and the must have circle cutter. Lots of Bazzill cardstock and adhesive and I’d manage a weekend. Anything else would be “dressing”!
Photos, friends and lots of memories to scrap! I think a self healing mat, knife , adhesive and lots of Ribbon..got to have Ribbon!
I never leave home without my ipod and my ruler and x-acto knife
Hamburg looks like a nice place. I haven’t been on a retreat but when I go to crops I take: trimmer, scissors, adhesives, MM tool kit, photos, cardstock, patterned paper, and coordinating embellishments like brads, buttons, ribbon and flowers.
Wow, I wish I was closer. That is a great price for such a fab place.
Scissors, glue and paper and I am good. I wing the rest!
I can do with paper, scissors and glue. I can make a lot whit that.
Looks like a very nice retreat. Patterned paper, cardstock, scissors and adhesive are absolute must haves.
for me, the most important essential supplies to bring for a crop event, my Tsukineko inks, glue tapes and EK Scissors and Cutterbee. Can’t do without them.
Wow, a 3 day scrapping retreat! I have never done one but for sure bring cardstock, trimmer, atg gun and tape, cropadile, and designer paper and embellishments and pics. I would probably try to coordinate all my paper before I go.
sandyh502001 at yahoo dot com
Never been to any…but would like to.
Looks like a fab place to scrap! My most important supplies would be my tote containing my craft knife, scissors, crop-a-dile, glue, pens, chalks, stapler, beads, wire, stamps, inks, brads and eyelets. I’d also have to bring a paper carrier full of pp’s and cardstock!
My essential items would be my ATG gun!
Besides the usual- I always need my bin of scraps to keep me happy! Hope I win! Mary
Lots of paper choices and stamps.
The Hamburg Hideaway looks awesome! And amazing rates!
My essentials include music on my MP3 player (sometimes you need a break from visiting to get down and dirty with your scrapbooking) and Diet Coke. I’ve also packed my sewing machine on the last two retreats I’ve been to, and I did not regret it a bit!
I have never had the opportunity to go to a crop. Have participated in online ones and always had my stuff available. But, would love to be entered in this giveaway.
I would say trimmer, adhesive, paper, and letter stickers.
