I have been thinking, lately, that I would like to share with you some newly discovered scrapbook talent. Scrapbook Designers of whom I have recently ‘discovered’ in my internet searches. People that I am excited and inspired by! Perhaps you will already know of some of them, and they may not all be ‘new’ Designers, but worth sharing just the same. So, let’s get to the first one, shall we?
Kate Mason – You’ve got to take a look at her work on her blog. Her style comes across to me as very different and unique. Sort of a vintage style, but with a twist. A couple of Kate’s layouts that she made for Ruby Street have been reposted here. Love the polka dotted plants as well as the detailed background in the layout at left. Also, notice the use of fibre in the layout on the right. Haven’t seen much fibre for a few years, but love how it’s used here.
Kate is from Australia, and I’m sure she is well-known ‘down under’ – she is on the Blue Bazaar Design Team and has co-authored a couple of books. (Bio here.) She is one busy lady for sure, as she is Mom to a 3 year old, a 2 year old and 5 month old twins!
I hope to make this a regular post so if you have someone you’d like to suggest, please feel free to nominate them and say what you like about their style and we’ll take a look and consider them for a future post. Just send us an email at scrapscene @gmail.com.
