L.K. Ludwig’s book, Mixed-Media Nature Journals contains "New Techniques for Exploring Nature, Life and Memories." The book was released a few months ago, but I’ve only just now had the chance to pick it up.
I must admit, I wasn’t drawn to this book by it’s cover. However, being familiar with L.K. Ludwig’s work, I knew the inside must be worth looking at. Flipping through the inside of the book turned my first impression right around. This book is beautiful and certainly proves a book should not be judged by it’s cover.
Filled with wonderful tactile projects from lots of found objects like branches and leaves, this book falls right into the trendy woodland themes that we’ve been seeing. Tonnes of texture and layering using interesting objects and materials. I also love the fabric and resin projects which make me want to dig in and get started on trying some of these techniques illustrated.
