Do you keep old patterned paper designs and scraps and use them up or do you toss your scraps and unwanted supplies, give them away, or…?
Wow! What a wonderful giveaway! Thanks!
For me, I keep my scraps as I’m thinking I’ll never know when I can use them. Or my daughter who’s 5 scraps too and she loves taking over mummy’s scraps.
That is a great giveaway. This class sounds fantastic.
I keep way to many scraps. I recently have been living by the 2×2 rule: anything smaller than 2×2 inch I am throwing out. And the same as Anne-Marie: I have a 7yo son who loves to play with mommy’s left overs!
I have a pizza box full
of patterend paper scraps!
Nothing smaller than 3-4 inches, tho.
Oooh! I keep scraps - mainly right before the full sheets of DP if I’ve multiples! Thanx for a chance at that t’riffic blog candy!
Great giveaway…I would love to participate! I keep every scrap, even the small ones. Sometimes I just need “one little piece” of something and I hate to cut up a whole 12×12 for that. It’s a horrible obsession…haha
I just spent all day yesterday color coordinating and organizing my scraps. I tossed the scraps of the patterned paper scraps that I don’t care for, but not before punching a few small squares of each..because my mentality is “you never know”.
Debbie Hodge’s Page Parts Challenge sounds like just what I need!
I’ve taken one of Debbie’s classes and thoroughly enjoyed it! I would love to give this one a try!
I keep virtually every scrap, and every once in a while I do an entire page just from scraps. I find forcing myself to use only what I have makes me be more creative.
I LOVE Debbie’s classes!
Great give away! ….Hi, my name is Jen and I’m a scrap hoarder.
I would love to try this class. I keep everything even tiny pieces - sometimes I do manage to use them up
I never throw anything out. I keep all my little bits and pieces and try to incorporate them into different things - layouts, cards, calendars etc.
I would absolutely love to do this class. I keep all my scraps in a drawer-I noticed yesterday how out of control it is getting. I definitely need a new system.
I too have bags of scraps. At first it was to hard to throw anything away. So I found a great way of keeping my room organized and not throwing the scraps away. I work with a middle school group of young scrappers and they love the scraps and are so creative! I also, work with the St. Louis Foster group and use scraps there too teaching the kids how to make life books. The contest sounds very interesting and just up my alley with small dosees of creative ideas so my brain can take it in while I create a wonderful project. Thanks for letting us know.
Joy
I keep my scraps organized by color and I use them on almost every LO. I love my scraps
I do keep scraps. Recently I sorted them by colors in the 12×12 drawers. I have 7 drawers. Cardstock and pp goes together. It is much easier to use that way! I keep a separate pile of the old paper and supplies that I will not use. I still need to decide how to get rid of it - sell, donate, give to my friends… The decision has to come soon because this pile is huge LOL
I keep my scraps - waaay too many of them, but I’ve recently been working on cards using them..and I share with my kids too!
i keep a lot of my stash in a pizza box, sometimes i make some papers to have it ready for crops, and sometimes i just give some away to my friends!
Oh looks like an awesome class!!!
As for me and my scraps….for the most part I keep them…I do have a little basket that I put scraps in for my boys to use for art projects.
I keep all my scraps - never know what you might want them for… also I have two sons that like to play in mommy’s scrap room, so they really come in handy - I have a drawer just for them and they use them to make things.
This would be so neat to try!
this sounds rad! thanks for the chance!

I try to use upp my scraps
Wow - what I great giveaway! I can never seem to let go of my scraps and I try to use them as much as I can.
Debbie’s classes are fabulous!
I keep larger scrap pieces. The rest I recycle.
The class sounds very interesting and intriguing.
I have had a small stash clearout and it’s only really embellishments that I pass on. This afternoon I’ve been making cards for my DD’s 10th birthday card and have been using up some old patterned paper and cardstock scraps, so never say never.
I have a huge “stash” pile & it seems I just keeping piling it up.
I’ve heard great things about Debbie’s classes.
This sounds like a great way to challenge my scrapbooking style and learn from ladies with a wealth of knowledge and ideas.
I save and use my scraps. I sort out papers I no longer want and donate them along with other goodies to several charities. Some of it I sell at my annual garage sale.
Keeping my fingers crossed!
Wendy
I hate to admit it but I’m seriously a hoarder. I can’t bear to part with my scraps and old pattern paper. I keep saying maybe one day I use or need it :).
Debbie’s classes are the bomb!!!!
this looks phenomenal!!!! would love to play with debbie and use some of my stash!!
i give most of my older stuff away…….i was able to “gift” a 12 yr old girl last Christmas with enough supplies to start her own store!! she was totally delighted!!
thanks again for this opportunity!!
kathy & jose’
I would love to participate in this! My art room has been taken over by scraps, my computer is taken over with photos that need to find a place my scrapbooks…
I have an art group that I belong to that meets once a month, called the Pointy Hat Art Posse (PHAP for short)- we set up a table each month for things we want to share, and often my smaller scraps go there….
WOW what a giveaway. I try to keep most of my scraps and divide them into to colors to store. Thanks for a chance.
Oh, I keep it all! I’m always so glad I do, because I find just that perfect little paper to fit my project! Thank you for the opportunity.
I usually go through my stash every year and donate what I don’t want to my kid’s art class.
This class looks really good….I would love to be the winner.
Wow - this sounds like a great class and I am really in need of some type of help lately - my muse seems to be on vacation! lol
sounds great!!! I never throw any scraps away
I totally hoard my stash to the point that it is unusable…I have started giving it away. The easiest thing has become to let my six year old use the scraps on my table when I finish a project. She can usually do a few from my scraps and she LOVES it!!
hugs,
Holly
Awesome giveaway! I would love to take this class!
I tend to keep my scraps until I feel overwhelmed, then I throw them all away.
I have started putting my scaps in mini kits for a community children’s home. It’s fun to think of little projects to repurpose the scraps.
Interesting class. Would love to win.
As far as my stash:
I teach free scrapbooking classes to senior citizens. I use all of my leftovers, extras and old stash to supply those who would not have the money for supplies due to such a low, fixed income.
I have scraps that I just CANT toss from when I started 10 years ago. All that wonderful KMI paper that I NEVER used when it was new but still love today.
Thanks for a chance to win!!
I keep my scraps, I never know when they just might be what I’m looking for to complete a layout!
I haven’t learned to part with anything yet. I’m fairly new at this so it’s not too overwhelming yet. Also, my adorable granddaughter (nearly 4 years old) loves to cut and glue, so these bits and pieces are perfect for her to use. I’d love to win the free class. I’m sure it would help me greatly in scrapping the story of “MiMi and Bailey.” :o)
I love the idea of a class focusing on one part a week
I keep my scraps sorted by colour/pattern in a file. I use the scraps for cards, or making embellishments like little circles. I also put any older papers I no longer like in a box for my son to use for crafts.
My stash of scraps is sitting there waiting to be used! I devide it all up by color
Awesome giveaway!!!
I keep my scraps for a wile. then once I feel I will not use them anymore I put them in a large zip lock bag and use them for kids crafts for our MOPS group.
Looks like an awesome class…. I have lots of scraps left over and tend to purchase supplies so I have them on hand…. I’m a pull things together as I’m creating kind of person…. Have a hard time getting supplies to use because I have a picture at home waiting for a certain item…..
oh my gosh… i save everything!!!my daughter was throwing out a pair of denim capris that were threadbare with wear and i yanked them out of the trash just to cut off the buttons… when i was done i had 2 pockets,11 large buttons 2 small buttonsand 7 tabs. i save all scrap paper and trims of ribbon and fiber.i’ve even saved lace from lingerie before.one never knows when it will come in handy. thanks for the chance at an awesome sounding class. ms_cheryl
Wow - It would be super fabulous to win this class!!! I would be so very happy - cause I am housebound… and disabled… but I LOVE scrapping!!! Thank you for considering me - and I hope you have a wonderful day!!
I keep everything and i have a ton of old paper that I am determined to use up.
sounds like a fun class
Win a class? That would be awesome. Then maybe I could actually use some of my paper. I do have a hard time parting with scraps and I’ve actually even just grabbed a few and put them on a page to make a layout. And they look pretty good. I wish I could do it more often–and I wish I could quit buying MORE paper! LOL
I often keep my old paper and scraps and a couple of times a year I purge. I have a friend who is a new scrapper so she gets anything that’s still usable, some scraps are kept for cards, some are tossed!
wow! this is so generous! I’d love the opportunity! I keep every little bit around. I have a hard time throwing away anything!!
I keep all my scraps by color. If they are less than 3×3, I usually toss them. Unfortunately, I too hold onto patterned paper until it’s out of date or I can’t remember why I bought it!
I keep scraps too. I even save pretty papers that I find (labels, paper source catalog, etc). Even small bits come in handy for collages, cards, etc. It’s hard to throw away the colorful papers I love!
I have to admit that I’m a scrap saver too! Sounds like a fun class. Thanks for the chance to win it.
Would love to win - sounds like fun!
I try and use up my stash but when it is growing at a fast rate and I know there is soke stuff that will never get used I will pass it on to my daughters school.
Ever since i heard of a RAK i now give most of stuff i know i am never going to use away. It makes me feel better knowing its going to a good home. I dont however give scraps away. If i can see a use for them or i am sick of the paper i will throw them away. I know its bad.
The best way I found to get rid of my stash is to sell it at a LSS yard sale and get the store credit. The old stuff leaves and then I am not paying out cash to replace it.

This sounds like a great class. I’m always looking for new sketches, and I defintly want to learn new things. The timing is certainly perfect since I’m in the final week of school and summer break is about to start.
Anyway, about my scraps…Funny you should ask. I just cleaned out some of my scraps. I usually keep them all if they are 1″ square or bigger. Now I do that only with solid colors and they have to be bigger ( 2″ or bigger) and the patterned paper has to be even bigger or else I won’t find a use for it because there’s not enough of it for pages or cards.
i scrap save - BUT - more recently have been giving them to a friend for her daughter to use
and she is getting much enjoyment out of them
I use my scraps a fair amount; but, I also give some to my mom for her collage (painting) projects. I am also more than happy to give stuff to friends just starting out in SBing or sell some at scrap sales
I’m so bad that I keep everything because I love it all! I need the push to use more of the mounding piles of beautiful patterned paper I own
Thanks for the chance to win a great prize!
I love to organize, so I am constantly rearranging my stuff and purging what I know I won’t use. I give stuff away to my aunt who is a teacher all the time but I do keep strips of patterned paper for cards. This class sounds like SO much fun!

I’d love to win this. I have tons of pattern paper and a whole drawer full of scraps. I’ve resolved this summer to get rid of some of it!
Oh yeah, I keep scraps. I even did a Big Picture Scrapbooking class on how to organize them — it was a great class, and I have an 8 drawer stack holding all my scraps (patterned and plain paper–anything big enough to take a punch!)
Thanks for the fantastic prize!
How cool a chance to win an online class!!! So far I still hang on to my scraps its just hard to let go!
This class looks fantastic! Thanks for a chance at the giveaway!
i love seeing “today on ScrapScene” in my inbox because i know it’s something great…i’m not disappointed! i’ve never taken a scrap class before and this looks like a good one to start with! i TRY to utilize my scraps, but when they start to take over my creative space, i have to junk ‘em. my son has started scrapping so i try to encourage him to use them…well, someone has to recycle!
What an awesome giveaway! I keep my paper scraps in different 12 x 12 envelopes by color - green, red/colorful, black and white, and blue.
I usually go over my stash of magazines and old papers and try to give them away as RAKs or, recently, to my sister-in-law, who is just starting out scrapping. =)
I like to encourage new scrappers by using my stash, I also use a lot of paper scraps in my cards. The class looks yummie!
I used to keep all my scraps, but they would get so lost in the bin that I never used them. Now I either make cards right (if there’s enough left) or I give them to my 3 year old daughter who loves to glue them to paper.
I would love to win this! I keep all of my scraps right now, but it’s driving me crazy. I’m such a pack rat and I have no idea how to organize them. I really need to throw them out!
I have a huge bag full of scraps I keep them and sometimes use them up months later esp my favourites, there always seems to be a use for them.
And yes that class looks good.
What a great prize! So here’s my comment
Scraps? I keep in CH 2 pocket holders. Old pp? I keep and share with my dd. Between the 2 of us most of it gets used. After 10+ years of scrapping I’m picky when it comes to buying pp so my stash really isn’t in need of purging or giving away.
what a wonderful class!! i would love to be a part of this. thanks for the great creativity debbie!!
i hope that i am part of this class…
Wow, what a wonderful class, it sounds fantastic. I keep every scrap imaginable in an expandable folder by color. I try to use them on my cards whenever I can.
wow! This sounds like an awesome class. I definitely keep all my scraps and hoard them. I just know that someday I will have the perfect project for all of them. :o) smiles…
Awesome! I’ve been thinking about this class too!
Fingers crossed.
I would love to win a spot in this class!!
I save all my scraps. They used to be organized, but it got too hard. I do use them all the time though.
Sounds like a fun class! I have a drawer full of scraps that I try to use up on other layouts.
That class looks like a lot of fun!!!
I keep EVERYTHING and I mean everything.I need to start on a 12 step stash programme,me thinks.
I would love to win this.I have had a trying month to say the least.i became an orphan and my family didn’t think my Birthday on Saturday mattered enough to celebrate.
So feeling a little sorry for myself. So here’s hoping my luck changes.Fingers crossed……………………..
I try to throw my patterned paper scraps away if they are less than a half sheet, unless I really love the paper (like the old KI stripey paper, that’s good to save even if it’s just a little strip). I have an accordian file for scraps of paper but really…I hardly ever use it. That’s kind of dumb and wasteful now that I think about it.
sounds like a great class!
as for my unwanted scrapbook supplies, the newest one get passed around, some get filed and some [the pretty old ones] find a new life within the hands of my 5-and-2-year old!
I put most scraps in a large ziplock bag. I then give those to my nieces to play with.
I would to start using my stash… I think that I shop more then I scrap sometimes!!
Carla
I save my bigger scraps in plastic drawers, placed within an arm’s reach. Smaller scraps I save for my kids.
I’m afraid I have difficulty parting with my scrapbook paper. which wouldn’t be so bad if I didn’t have the same problem with fabric for sewing, thread and yarn for crocheting, etc.
What a fantastic prize. I have more scraps than I have whole sheets of paper. I keep promising they will come in handy but always forget to use them.
I save a lot of my scraps and try to use them. But if I have lots of things I won’t be using, I tend to give them away.
I keep allmy scraps too….making cards out of them is very liberating! I feel like I have spent my money well when I can make something from something that I have had for years. I alsouse them for projects the kids take part in and I don’t feel I am sharing something ‘precious’!
I cut down my scraps in to 8×8 or 6×6 or smaller for ATCs. Any scraps that I cannot cut to these sizes gets tossed.
my bad and keep everything…lol…..i have everything colour coded and sized…so if i want to create on the run, i can grab a couple of packs of similar colours items and create
would loveeeeeeee to win this
sounds like sooo much fun!
Great giveaway…
I am always looking for inspiration
A class giveaway !! i guess i just need that !!! would love to win this !!
