A Million Memories and Karen Grunberg are giving away one spot in Karen’s new online class to a ScrapScene reader! The class is called, “The Book of Me” and begins on May 5th. Please read below for more information about the class as well as how to qualify for the giveaway.
Come join A Million Memories Design Team member Karen Grunberg in creating a memorable and unique album to celebrate yourself.
This album will guide you to make a minibook containing 6 easy and 6 not-so-easy facts about you. Each page of the minibook will be a list of six things on a particular topic, like songs you like or places you’ve been. There will be six pages of easy and fun facts about you and then six pages of deeper, more meaningful facts. A total of 14 classes will be spread across three weeks to give you plenty of time to catch up.
Each class will contain an example page from Karen’s minibook with alternate ideas, photography tips, journaling tips, and lot of other inspiration. You will have access to a private bulletin board where you can ask questions, show off your minibook pages and share the joy of creating a memorable and meaningful album for yourself and your loved ones.
The best thing about this class is that you can use your own stash and your own, unique style to create your book. It will be 100% authentic to you.
You can find a lot more information here and register for the class here.
To qualify for the giveaway, one free spot in Karen’s class, please comment to this post. We’d like to hear about scrapbooking you. Have you ever done a page or perhaps even a whole album or mini book about yourself? What are your thoughts on this? Comments will be taken until Monday, April 28th at midnight EST. A winner will be selected via an online random number generator and announced on Tuesday, April 29th.

This is compleatly perfect timing for me, as I am currently hosting a book of me, running for 22 weeks over at scrapbook Savvy, so the thought of learning more and being inspired by Karen would be so special to offer the rest of the girls over there! this would be sensational! I would luv to be part of these classes!

I just finished my first album about me, and I was so happy with it knowing that my kids would grow up and get a good laugh about their mom. Can’t wait to do another one about me! yay!~
I have not done a page or album about myself. I think about it, but I get to sef-conscious! It’s definetly something I need to get over and just do!
Talking about myself in my scrapbooks is really, really hard. I think taking a class to force you to scrapbook about yourself is a great idea!
i have not done a book on myself, but would like to, that would give my children something to look back on later. My Grandmother passed away a week ago, and I would have so loved for her to have done something like this. It would have been very special to me !!!Thanks
Stephanie S.
I wish my mom or grandma had done something like this….a great legacy. After saying that, I need to do one!
I have always planned on doing a book all a bout me but never had the chance to sit down and do it. I would love to have a reason to do it now!I know my daughter would love to have this some day!
this sounds like a great class. I have been working on an ABC book of me for about 3 years now. I am having a hard time with some of the journaling. I want to be totally real but it is hard sometimes.
TFS
I have one album about me started, but I have not finished it. I think a class would be very fun!!
Thank-you
I would LOVE to win a sopt in the class
I have done alot of pages that were pretty personal about me-I love the therapeutic process
I have done a handful of pages about myself but would love to do an album like this. I LOVE AMM and know this class will be fantastic!
This class sounds awesome! I haven’t really done any me pages. I’d love to win the class, but even if i don’t I’m signing up.
I have just finished an album about my home and this sounds like the perfect follow on project.
Just signed up for this class and am so eager to play!! What intrigues me as well is that you can use your own stash for this project! I plan on buying the kit however because I don’t normally scrap in those colors and want to step outside of my comfort zone.
I’ve done one class for the 31 days of January…. It was alot of fun and I completed the whole thing…. I’ve scrapped a couple pages of myself but like some have said, I have a hard time scrapping about myself…..Plus, I’m always behind the camera… My DH has started taking more pictures of ME, even though I hate how I look nowadays….LOL So my goal this year is to take more pictures of me and scrap about me…..An album about ME… LOL

The majority of my layouts are about myself, but I have yet to do a mini-album on me. I did an online class that was about me, but I was not able to keep up with the pace and was only able to complete 4 of the 12 projects. My albums have been about my DH and kids so far, so it would be good to have that motivation to do one on myself.
I can’t stress enough how important this is and that I MUST finish an album about me for future generations. My first photo of myself was when I graduated from highschool. My family just didn’t take photos. I have one photo of one grandma and none of my other grandma or grandpas. I finally got some photos of relatives at my aunts 70th birthday party, and that was 10 years ago (I am 68) I will not do this to my future generations. This is SO important!!!
I have been wanting to do a book of me! really hoping to take this class!
This sounds like a very interesting class. I am one who has avoided having my picture taken, or doing any pages about me. I’ve never found it easy to talk about myself, or to reach inside myself to discover the me that is hiding inside. Spent the past 2/3 of my life hiding from the 1st 2/3. My son (youngest 13) asks me questions that I would just rather avoid. . . knowing someday I have to face it and move on. Hoping someday I will find the energy and inner strength to face it on paper and put some of it to rest. Bookmarking this so that someday I might find the right time to do this.
I’ve made two or three pages about myself, nothing more… However I always planned to make a whole album to tell who I am. I guess I never focused enough on that and just kept on making pages about my loved ones only! This class looks very great… it could help me to make this album, that is so much important for my future child… I would have loved to have something like this about my parents.
I have done some books on all about me. I loved doing them. I think it is important for you to scrap about you too and not just family and pets. That way your children will know you better.
I just turned 60 on Friday and have been obsessed scrapbooking the past 5 years. I just did 1 page on how it feels to be 60. It is my first ever page about me. I’m so busy with my grandchildren’s pages that there is not time for me. A mini-album might be just the ticket.
J’adorerais participer a ce type de crop mais aurais je le bon niveau d’anglais ?
I have only made one page about myself, and that was for my mothers heritage album with pictures of me as a baby, so maybe it’s about time?
Sounds like an interesting class. I have never made a page or album about myself, just family pictures. Like others, I feel a little self conscious about journaling about myself.
I have always thought “One day I’ll get around tuit!”.
Documenting the kids always seems more important and then they ask me something about myself and I realize how little they know. Really need to fix that!
This sounds like something I SHOULD DO! I was all enthused then I read the not so good bits I’d have to add, I am sure I have heaps of those, very scary to scrap that stuff, but I am sure the journey would be worth it. What a fantastic class.
I once started a book of me, but never got farther than the first page. I did do a single page LO about me which was a lot harder than I thought.
Guess I would qualify for a class!!
This sounds great
As much as I hate having my photo taken and writing about myself, I really want something for my children to know the “little things” about me, my likes and dislikes, my feelings and thoughts etc…
I know I would love to know the “little things” about my mum, what she was thinking at a younger age.
Thanks
Tracy
this class sounds wonderful. i would love to take it, winning a spot in the class would be even better!!
i have done 2 2-page layouts about me, i didn’t like it but i do think that it stretched me some which is a good thing.
thanks for the giveaway and the chance to win!!
What a fun class! I keep meaning to start a BOM, but keep putting it off… this is the perfect kick start
I have an on-going BOM. It think it’s really important, as I look at my scrap work as something to hand on to my grandchildren. There is so much I wish I knew about my grandparents (even my own parents!). So I try to include these things in my book.
This would be a perfect class for me! I’ve done a few pages about me, but I tend to put off doing more, using the excuse of no photos of my childhood (lost in a fire)…and I know it IS just an excuse!
wow, what a fabulous opportunity. I have a BOM. I think they are so important for 2 reasons. They are a creative outlet for yourself, and they are a wonderful way to leave a legacy to your children and grandchildren.
I would love to do a proper BOM and Karens class would give me inspiration
Kirsten.
I haven’t ever scrapbooked about myself. This class would be really cool. Thanks for the possible opportunity!
I haven’t scrapbooked about myself- I’m always too busy SBing my family instead! This class sounds like the catalyst I need
I’ve never done a mini album about myself. Not sure I know where to begin? I’m used to focusing on other people and documenting their lives not mine. I think this class would be an eye-opener.
Thanks
Judi
I love scrapbooking… you could say I’m addicted… I eat sleep and think about scrapping in one form or another all day long… what photos to take, what papers to use, which layout I want to do next… and I have definately done a page or two about me… but not enough that I can say it’s a whole album. I did start a minialbum but never got so far as completing it… on the to do list now!
I’d love to do this class
I do have a “SHE” album – which is about me and my thought and values – but i think as scrapbookers we don’t focus on ourselves enough !!!
I have done a couple of pages of myself, not much more than that. A mini album about myself would be challenging!!!
Thanks
Maria
never ever created a mini-album, or even a page, about me! Karen’s class sounds like the perfect place to begin.
I have not done a book about myself. Actually, I hardly have any pictures of myself. I’m trying on working on that. I’m afraid to hand the camera over to someone else-what if I miss a good shot?!?!?!
I think this would be a great class.
Melanie
I have used my photos in classes to make albums about myself. I find it quite a challenge to first of all find photos that I even like of myself and second to write about myself. It is easy to write about others, but hard when I am thinking of things to write about myself.
This is too cool! She is great and I know that this will be a wonderful class.
I have not done a book of me yet, just a few layouts, but I would love to make time to do this. My daughter is very curious about my childhood and life before her, so I would love to have something to pass on to her later.
I’ve never done a book specifically about me…it always seems easier to write about others! I realize how important it is to not forget to “document” myself though…and this class would be a great start!
I would love to take a class like this! I have never had the chance yet to scrapbook myself at all and it is something I need to do.
WHAT A COOL IDEA! I just saw a page, that had no pictures that a gal had done about her and I was thinking when I saw it I always scrap others, never me!
I have a Gratitude Journal that I started and write in occassionaly but I love the idea of this book! Would love to win!
I have always wanted to do an album all about me, maybe this is the sign I have been waiting for.
I honestly have not done any pages about myself unless it includes my children. I would love to take a class and learn how to do this! Thank you for the opportunity!
I have a finished 11×8 1/2 album on 8 of my core beliefs. One page has the core belief and the other page has 4 to 5 pictures of me, anywhere from baby til present. Just peaking out of the top of each belief page is a tag tucked into a pocket behind the page giving more details of why this is one of my core beliefs. I enjoyed putting this album together.
I would love to create another album just about me to give my children a deeper glimpse of my inner me.
I’ve often thought about doing some pages about me but haven’t really had the time too. I think it’s a GREAT idea though!
I’m working on pages about me as part of my New Year’s resolution and it’s been surprisingly enjoyable! I can’t wait to look back on them in 5 or 10 years time and see how much things have changed.
I don’t do many layouts or books about myself but the few that I do I truly cherish. Looks like a neat class.
I love mini books & have just recently started scrapping about me & my life. Thanks for the chance to win.
I’d enjoy taking your class on-line. Sounds like fun!
I have done several layouts about myself and one mini album that Shimelle offered awhile back. They are very fun to do.
I’ve never made a whole book of Me, but have scrapped a few old photos of myself from my childhood. I would really like to tackle a project like this, but have always found it hard knowing where to start. It would be a great prize to win. thanks for the chance
I have done a page about a few things about myself but never a whole album. This is something I should do. I would love to win a spot in this class.
Sounds like a wonderful class, I do a LO a week on different verses from the Bible and how they affect my life.
I’ve never made a scrapbook solely based on me. I always have other people in it. I think this would be an awesome class and would love to win!
I am a member of AMM and love it over there! It’s gonna be a great class.
I like to make things for others so I’ve never considered doing anything about me. I am currently working on a mini for my niece. This class would be a great motivator.
My scrapbooks/pages have always centered on my family, children and their activities, but never anything solely about me. Thanks for the opportunity to win a spot for “me.”
this looks like a wonderful class. Thanks for keeping us so well informed!!
hugs,
Holly
I would love to win this book of me, My Grandmother just passed away, and I so wish that she had done this book, so I would always have and possibly learn more about her. Thanks
I’m making album about me and my husband, both as children and as grownup’s
I have done only 2 layouts about me osince i started scrapping over 7 years ago!!! Pretty sad I know. Maybe this class can inspire me to scrap myself!!!
I’m always making things for other people and have NEVER made a complete book about myself. I just found your blog and love it!
Ann
I’ve thought about this….maybe I need the class to get me really moving on thie project!
I’ve only attempted one ME page before – there is a fear of committing things about myself to paper. I want to create a real BOM, not blase and candy coated but the dark side too! I really need help with this one – with a new baby on the way, I’d like that one day they could look back over the person I was – rather then the mum that they knew.
Minerva
I’m fascinated with Book of Me classesd. I started a couple different albums but have yet to complete them. I’m queen of unfinished projects. This book of me class sounds small enough to be completeable. That’s what I need. I think it’s so important to share stuff about ourselves!
Thisooks like a motivator for me! I would love for my boys to have something like this!
I have never done any scrapbooking on me, although I have sat in front of the computer for hours just wondering how to start. I am a very newbie and have only completed a couple of pages but am not very happy with the results. Perhaps a class would get me out of this ” I am not game to start” phase, and set me on a path that could emulate some of the fine work I have seen on your web site.
I’ve been planning an album about myself for the longest time. I did a few pages, and some section dividers, but never got around to more. Plus, with some job and family changes in the last couple of years, it looks like the finishing line just moved a bit further.
I have always wanted to do a book of me, but i dont know where to start. And i have never tried an online class either, it would be so fun to try.
I have done a couple of pages on myself, as I am rarely in any of the photos that I scrap. I found It makes you analyse aspects of yourself you might not normally think about. This class sounds fun.
I have nover done a minibook or layout just about me, but I would really love to! I am sure my daughter would love it when she is older! I would have loved to seen such a book about what my Mom!
I started one mini-book about me, but I never finished it…always scrap about the family.
This class sounds fabulous!
I’m new to scrapbooking…I’ve started a BOM….I have 3 entries…..I would like some input on how you are doing yours…..sounds like fun….
I do not do very many layouts about me..I am usually the person behind the camera..I also do not really like the way the camera adds loads of unwanted pounds..humm funny about that eh? Self portraits seem to be hard to do and I find they always look goofy.. tee hee anywho! I would love to do a book about me and can prolly scrounge up some sassy photos of myself somewhere? LOL!
)
Well sort about me. One album, that I keep adding to, is about pictures of our funny faces. (or mishaps: ie: the one where the entire was not to get up from a posed picture). We looked soooo funny! I have titled the album ” Our Mishaps”. Oh..even the ones from birthday parties, Christmas, anniversaries, holidays, vacations etc. And anyone who comes to our house, loves to look at this book.
I have never got round to doing a book about me – everything else always pops to he top of my priority list, I will do one – one day
Well this would mean a lot to me.My Dad died on yesterday.I had asked him to complete a book about his life for me and my Sister,as we knew he didn’t have long. But he never completed a page.I don’t want to make the same mistake for my children and would love to complete a project about ME.I always seem to scrapbook everyone else as I rarely like the pictures of myself. It woulg give me something to look forward to over the coming week and give me a focus.I would like to celebrate Me for a change.
wow a project idea for me,.. am always the last to do layouts of myself – its always my hubby and boys that come first… its high time i do something about me and my milestones too…
hope lady luck is on my side !
I haven’t done a book specifically about me, although I’ve thought about it for a couple of years now, but I have made a book about all the project I have stitched and I’m doing a book right now on “a year in my life” (this is my, I’m turning fifty year but don’t tell anyone)
I have never created any scrapbook or mini book about myself. I do try to select pictures of myself in my scrapbooks. Its easy to focus on others.
