Do you scrap standing up or sitting down? sitting down unless i am trying to make sure my paper placement is straight then i stand up Do you have more than one layout on the go at a time, or do you complete one before beginning another? i complete one before i begin another. i also scrap according to my mood…if i am feeling silly my lo’s tend to be bright and the page filled and other times they are simple lo’s —jen t. :) ([email protected])

I always sit down. Don’t we spend too much time on our feet anyway!!!!!!! I always complete one before beginning another, but I have trouble completing anything!!!!! I usually find inspiration in some new embellishment or bauble I’ve found!!!!!! I’d love to be in Shimelle’s class, I LOVE HER WORK.

I scrap sitting down and I always complete the layout unless it is a project done over time in a group. I like to get all my supplies out for the scrap page and then do the page. I always clean up after each layout. I am very organized!

i always sit down when i scrap if ind it more relaxing. i always have more than one project on go as i tend to do more mini books than lo’s. i have been waiting for this class to start for ages

Well, this is a wonderful opportunity for someone! As for my scrapping, well, I tend to scrap standing. I try sitting and I have a chair that I can alter the height on, but I inevitably end up standing. I work on one layout at a time and it needs to be DONE before I move on and that means journaling and everything. I don’t tend to do crops much anymore because I have too much stuff and it’s too hard to sort to go, but I love my little scrapbook corner I have at home – one of my fav places in the house!

    Cheers,

I scrap sitting down. I have all my supply out…I don’t clean up until I’m done with my project. I need a bigger space for all my things…my husband says I need to stop buying things ;o)

I would love to win Shimelle’s class! What a wonderful opportunity. I scrap sitting down most of the time, when I am really excited about something I stand up. I usually only work on one page at a time, after I finish that page I start on another. I can’t really work on two at a time!

The class sounds great! I scrap sitting down, although I do stand up to get perspective and check for straightness, etc to glue things down. I only do one layout at a time, finishing it before I go on to the next. I am very sllloooooooowwww too!

Great Question! I scrap sitting down but at times need to stand up to cut paper or for placement. I complete a page before I do another one but that doesn’t mean that while I am working on a layout I don’t stop after getting a great idea for a card or want to add something to a mini that I am working on. I can have a page going and then go and work on a mini thought, I am a tad ADD!

    wow!! This class looks awsome!!

I always scrap sitting. I mostly like to scrap at home because I’m not the one to plan how to do a page, and its hard to bring your whole scraproom to a crop *blushing* I usually finishes a page before I start a newone…

I usually sit and scrap, near my computer and all the supplies. Always have a drink close by. I’m a late night scrapper since I have small children. I love making altered projects too. I’m usually a one project from beginning to end, however, it may span over a couple of days. I do love to get inspiration from blogs, websites and magazine and my children!!

I scrap all different ways, depending on how busy I am. I have scrapped standing, but I dont prefer it. I’ve scrapped on my bed, on the livingroom floor, on the counter, but my favorite place to scrap is in my scrap area, because i have fast and easy access to all my goodies! I have been known to start one page, and then start up another before the first is finished, because i’m afraid i’m going to forget the ideas in my head! There is on rhyme or reason to my scrapping pages…my albums aren’t themed, everything is mix and match, and that is just my style. If i see some paper I wanna scrap, I’ll search for the picture to go with it…and other times I’ll start with the picture and find the perfect paper….I’m all over the place!

I have never tried scrapping standing up. Sitting on the floor or a table yes but never standing up. I’m not sure if I wouldn’t find it too tiring on my feet.

I love to sit down and scrap for hours.. pick up every little piece when I’m done so I can go back to a clean inspiring space.. however I have 4 boys 12 to 5mos and I normally scrap 5 mins at a time between diapers and bottles and noggin shows LOL so it’s standing up and sticking down one element at a time.. so pages can take me a day to do but those 5 mins are worth it. I usually only do one page at a time unless it stumps me then i’ll put it aside and work on something else.. I don’t think scrapbooking should be work so if I’m thinking too hard off to the side it goes.

Usually I sit on the couch with a board on my lap for my projects. I always read more than 1 book at a time and always have more than 1 project going – sometimes I even finish them! I just started my first online class and am loving it – would love to win Shimelle’s class.

  19. Posted 6 years, 4 months ago | Permalink

Very cool. I love Shimelle’s online classes.
I scrap sitting down and I have to have EVERYTHING within reach. I wouldn’t like a spacious studio… I wouldn’t get anything done. And I work on one LO at a time.

  20. Posted 6 years, 4 months ago | Permalink

My scrap room is set up so that I can scrap standing or sitting – though I do usually sit. I like to be comfy when I’m creating! I will work on more than one minibook or long-term project at a time, but usually I complete an entire layout before I move on to the next.

Thanks so much for this opportunity! I love Shimelle’s classes!

What a great class! I scrap sitting down – on an IKEA chair built high for kids to reach the table. It helps me get a better view of the page. I usually have two or three projects on the go at once but am trying hard to get better at finishing one before starting another.

I finally just went and looked at this class and I have to say, it looks like a great one! I hope I get picked – this would be a great Birthday present to me! lol As for how I scrap, I usually scrap sitting down at my dining room table. I usually only work on one layout at a time but if I’m making ATC’s I’m usually working on 2 or 3 sets at a time. I’m usually a slow scrapper – it can take me anywhere from 5 hours to 2 days to complete a layout. It just depends on if I have an idea in my mind or not as to how I want the end result to look. Anyways, thanks for your daily inspiration!

well i stand up and then i sit down, stand up, sit down…
i try to have only one project on my desk but i have always a lot in my head! but the most important is to have a chewing gum in my mouth! that inspire me!

sometimes i stand up so i can see the overal and sometimes i sit, it’s just to see the paper if it’s straight. I try to work on one layout at the time. I do not have so much space on my (diner) table. We lately do not eat at that table anymore :)
And if i have to much things on that table my cute cat ( a maine coon) is taking al my space and making a mess of everything!!!

I scrap standing up. I need to be able to move around, reach for another piece of paper, cut. I only sit when I am contempulating my next move. I might sit on a stool or I sit right in the middle of the floor. Helps me decide what I should use. When I am stuck, I walk away for a few minutes, come back and try something if I like it I continue if not I walk away and get my mind off of it. When nothing grabs me, I take a trip out to the craft store and usually find exactly what I need. I try not to start another project until the last one is done….but I have been know to do it occassionally.

  26. Posted 6 years, 4 months ago | Permalink

I scrap standing 99% of the time. If I am doing something tedious, like hand cutting pieces for a layout, I will sit if it will take sime time to do. I usualy have a couple things going at once but try not to have too much on my plate at once.

This looks like a great class!

I usually scrapbook sitting down – either at our local store crops, at home in my “studio” or by the tv. I generally finish up my pages or project before moving on to the next one – except for maybe the journaling!

  31. Posted 6 years, 4 months ago | Permalink

I mainly scrap sitting down, however its on a stool at a drafting table. There is something about the height that I like and it gives me an option to stand. I am mostly a 1 LO at a time kind of girl. It would so bug me to have more than 1 LO going at a time. I like to complete one, get it in the album, clean up and start the next. Can you tell I am one of those needing order kind of people? Ha.

I would love a chance to win a spot in the class.

I am relatively new to scrapbooking. Started a year ago this month. I scrap sitting down most all of the time. I always complete a LO before moving on to the next one. Lately my LO’s consume all my thoughts until I finish it so I try to do them quickly. It usually takes me 2 hours per LO. Does that mean I’m slow?

    Thanks!

  33. Posted 6 years, 4 months ago | Permalink

How fun! I have a never taken a class, but would love to try it and expand my skills! I definitely scrap sitting, but get up frequently to find supplies to get me movin’! I am a “one Lay out at a time girl” :) But I usually have several small, mini albums going at once! Thank you.

  34. Posted 6 years, 4 months ago | Permalink

This sounds like a great class! Now, on to the questions… I scrap standing AND sitting. When I’m deciding on where all the elements of the layout will go, I like to stand over the page. Once I get down to the actual gluing and attaching, I’ll sit. I get very hung up on the one layout that I’m working on, and have a hard time moving on until it’s done.

  35. Posted 6 years, 4 months ago | Permalink

That sounds like a neat class! When I scrap I’m popping up and down all the time, I do like to look over my work while I’m placing things down. Often I will half complete something, get stuck and start something else but I always come back and finish it.

I scrap in spurts. I will scrap several pages, usually one or two going at a time and then I will not scrap for a week or two. I scrap sitting down only because I have recently moved and don’t have a place to stand, but working on that. Much prefer standing up so I can move around. I scrap mostly about events and feelings. Usually something triggered by my photos.

I am also sitting down on a stool which is almost in a standing position. I work in a u shape area so everything is within reach. I do one project at a time and I am so slow and meticulous it drives me crazy. I have GOT to get over this. I’m thinking if I was in a class like this, I could scrap and move on and spend less time redoing things.

Thanks for the chance to win a spot in this awesome class!

I usually scrap sitting down, but am up & down a lot and I have to stand up to get a better “view” of my layout before I permanently attach everything. And, I usually finish one layout at a time before moving on to the next; but most of the time, my layouts are two page spreads–I have this thing about non-matching pages facing – or across – from each other!

I sit sittiing down although I am always moving to find something or getting distracted by something. I have to finish a page well almost finish, I admit to having quite a few that still need some journalling on them. It does mean my page may lay about for a week or two before it is finished as I just haven’t had much time lately to scrap. I also may stekch my idea on paper so I don’t forget so I can move it around and around to see what layout looks best.

  45. Posted 6 years, 4 months ago | Permalink

I start scrapping while I’m sitting and by the time I’m finished I am standing… and I usually only have one project going on at a time. Otherwise I would never get anything finished.

I scrap standing up. I’m lucky that my table is 6 foot long, so I can spread out. I usually only have 1 layout going at a time. If I try to do 2 or more at a time, I end up spending too much time changing stuff around.

Shimelle has the best classes. Her instructions are always so good. And the projects turn out so fun.

I have been scrapbooking for 3 years now. I am in process of getting my own studio. It is awesome! I do most of my scrapbooking at crops, classes or my best friends home. I am excited to be able to do it at home and hope to finish the many projects I started! I scrapbook sitting at a large L – shaped desk. When I have my friends over I have space for 3-4 4′ tables. I am so lucky! This is the first contest I have ever entered! My best to all my scrapbook family. Cindi, Fort Wayne, IN.

I scrap mostly sitting down. Occasionally I have to stand up to get something straight or if I’m at a crop and the tables are too high. I usually have several projects going at the same time, mostly mini books. If I’m doing just a page I will finish it right away before going on to something else. Always have chocolate on hand but no music, I find it distracting.

I took Shimelle’s X-mas Journal class and loved it. I scrap standing up. I finish one layout before starting another. I “kit” my photos and papers ahead of time so that when I have 15 minutes I can get a page done. I love pattern paper and don’t use much cardstock. I’m hooked on making mini books. I usually scrap alone, when the rest of my family is out of the house, often without music. Must be the introvert in me. I love the quiet time to recharge my batteries.

I used to do my scrappin’ on the floor until I got quite severe backache. Now I always do it on my dinning table as my scraptable is always full of things. I tend to do an Layout faster especially I have lots of ideas coming up. My projects (ie albums) are tend to be slower as I need to conceptualize.

  64. StaceyM

Well a little of both when it comes to scrapping. I sit but stand up to get that birds eye view of my layout to make sure the design looks right…then I sit back down. I always complete a layout before I start another one. I have way to much stuff to drag it all out. I would be overwhelmed if I did that.

  65. Posted 6 years, 4 months ago | Permalink

I scrap sitting down, usually in front of the TV, and only work on one layout at a time, unless of course it’s a project where the same papers are used throughout then I might work on more pages – but I mostly work on page/spread at a time.

As a general rule I scrap sitting down (amidst the craft explosion on my desk!) but this week I’ve been scrapping-as-I’m-passing on a layout. My craft room is the conservatory so every time I’ve passed my desk to go outside I’ve paused and either tweaked my layout, or picked out something to go on it. Probably not the best way to scrap, but with 2 kids to contend with you’ve got to grab every moment you can get.

I love Shimelle’s classes and I’ve been hoping to sign up to this. Fingers crossed I can sign up free of charge! :)

Sitting or standing, whatever I feel like doing at that time. I usually finish a layout or project before moving on, but if I get stuck on a layout, I will move on to something else and then come back.

Oooh this is really exciting. I love Shimelle…she is so inpsiring! How to I scrap?? On the move! I don’t have a designated area at home, so it is whereever I can find space…in the kitchen, the dining table, the living room, my bedroom, standing up or sitting down! Wherever it is I like to spread!

  75. Posted 6 years, 4 months ago | Permalink

I always start out sitting down… oh but then I get so excited, my chair becomes more of a hinderance and I end up pushing it to one side!
I simply can’t scrap without my Rascal Flatts albums so if I’m standing up – it makes dancing to it a little less of a health and saftey hazard!! :)

I would love to win Shimelle’s class! What an awesome giveaway! I always scrap sitting down. I am terrible for having more than one project on the go at a time plus having lots of unfinished projects. Since I live in a small town that is at least 45 miles from the nearest LSS, taking classes really isn’t an option. I’m not one that will drive at night especially in the winter time as the weather is so unpredictable. Very few places have daytime classes. Winning one of Shimelle’s classes would be so awesome. I’m a sit down scrapper and I always have a movie going at the same time I scrap. I do, however, stand up to view my completed layout just to get a different perspective on the entire layout. I usually have one layout going at a time. I recently reorganized my scrap area and found that I in fact had 5 layouts going at once.

Do you scrap standing up or sitting down? mostly sitting down. Do you have more than one layout on the go at a time, or do you complete one before beginning another? oh, my, just one at a time. i would be so lost if i did more than one at a time. Shimelle is great. i just love taking her classes! :O)

I always scrap sitting down! Could never do it standing up, wouldn’t feel right! Don’t always finish one project before moving onto the next , if I’m doing a LO and for example an exploding box, I will have them both on the go. Love Shimell’s classes! Did my first one last Christmas and was so proud of myself that I managed to do a page every day and I completed the journal! Winning a class would be incredible. Thanks for the opportunity!

Oh, me please!! My b’day (the 39th . . . first of many of the same, I’m afraid) is on the 24th, and I keep thinking that Shimelle’s class would be the perfect present for me!!

Anyhow, I am a standing scrapper. I have lovely barstools to sit on at my counter-height table, and I find myself stacking them full of supplies, and standing anyways!! I like to look down on my projects with a bird’s eye view, I guess!! my other quirk is that I have to clean up entirely between projects and start with a fresh surface. Of course, that’s probably a time-waster in the long run, since I end up hauling out a lot of the same things over and over again! LOL!

  86. Posted 6 years, 4 months ago | Permalink

I always start off sitting down and always end up standing up lol. I find that I need to stand back and look at the layout to get inspiration. I would describe my style as ‘neat’ but I’d love to be more ‘messy’.

I sit down maily, but when I start to get engrossed in something I find myself standing up. Always have LOTS of projects/LOs on the go at once – my main weakness. And I’m a Sucker for Shimelle’s classes!

Do you scrap standing up or sitting down? Since I mainly digiscrap, and even when I paper scrap, I always sit.

Do you have more than one layout on the go at a time, or do you complete one before beginning another? I generally start and finish a layout – I like the sense of completion it gives me, but if a certain layout is giving me trouble, I’ve been known to set it aside and come back to it later too.

I scrap sitting down, although I get up and move around a lot. I have more than one thing going at a time. I tend to leave things out until my projects are done and then I clean it all up. My husband put together an awesome scrap room for me! Shimelle’s class looks so fun. I would be thrilled to win. It would be my first on-line class.

I scrap sitting in my living room at my desk and from Shimelle…I’ve stopped stressing and started just grabbing the stash that is around me. I have so much to use and keep adding more and frankly, can’t wait for another Shimelle class to start up. Winner or not…I’m taking it!

I generally stand unless I go to a crop with the folding tables because they aren’t very high. I tend to clean up after I am all done with projects but usually end up with piles everywhere because I stick all my stuff in a box or bag or leave it out where I can see it. I alwyas have 2 or 3 projects in progress at at time.

Up and down and all around I am afraid. I sit for awhile, then stand for awhile, then walk around a little bit. If I am at home in my own space, I might sit more than stand, but if I am croppin away from home, I wander about and see what everyone else is doing. I love that croppers like to share their work, chit chat about their pictures and there “stuff.”

  102. Posted 6 years, 4 months ago | Permalink

I’m a project person and usually don’t even do LO’s but do mini albums. I do crop sitting down but have to be able to stand up too!! I adore your work and would be honored to be in one of your classes.

I love Shimelle’s prompts and her work! I have such random scrap habits–I have a desk, but often scrap on the floor in front of the TV at night–I’ll go several days in a row, and then do nothing for weeks. I just wait until something inspires me and then I can’t wait to get out my papers and start to play. I don’t have a single big album finished and even most of my small ones are ongoing projects–and I have several going right now, as well as my kids baby books which someday might be finished.

  105. Posted 6 years, 4 months ago | Permalink

I scrap sitting AND standing. It depends on where I’m working at – my craft table or the kitchen counter. :-) I try to only work on one project at a time and usually can accomplish that. I’m a messy scrapbooker and have all kinds of things piled around me as I work. I’m trying to do better! :-)

I scrap sat down at the table, have a few projects on the go at a time, but tend to put them each into 12×12 bags and only work on one at once, clearing things away in between changing projects…this is mainly due to space. I’d love to be able to spread out a bit more! Part way through house rennovations so would love to do Shimeele’s class.

I sit down when I scrapbook but I’d love to have more space for a stand-up table with different stations……I usually have more than one project in the works….I can go from one to the other if I’m having difficulties with any of them.

And since I joined All Moments Remembered I’ve been getting more LO’s and cards done at their monthly crops, challenges and from thier class category…

I love this site… It’s packed with lots of info………

Wow this class sounds like lots of fun! As for my scrapping method – Im defintely a sit down scrapper – maybe because it takes me so long to pull my layouts together I sit and experiment sometimes for hours…I with I could stand – but definatley not in the cards for my creative juices. When I scrap I HAVE to finish one page before I start another..journalling included! I know myself well enough that if I don’t finish it right away It wont ever get done!!

I scrap while sitting @ my table, but sometimes I like to stand & work a while. It gives you a different perspective of your LO sometimes. I would LOVE a pub table to be able to stand at comfortably, and then always have a barstool to sit at also. I do clean up my space after every LO i finish. I need to have a clear area before I start ripping everything up again LOL. I NEED to take an online class desperately……….

LOL, I’ll probably end up taking this class even if I don’t win – but winning would be a wonderful Spring Surprise! My method – I scrap, sitting down at a small craft table my Dh made me, while we watch (or ignore) movies in the living room. Unless I am helping my DD’s scrap then we take over the dining room table and I stand up. I usually start with photos, but lately I have been pulling embellishments I want to use (or use up) first, then choosing papers to match, THEN finding a photo. It’s working well. Both 1 & 2 pages, single or multi photos.

I scrap sitting down mostly, though I can see why a lot of folks do it standing up, you get a better perspective that way and easier to eyeball things to line them up. I may switch but I’m too lazy :-D I work on one lo in progress at a time but I have a notebook of ideas and envelopes with pictures pulled for future. Lately I’ve been doing marathon sessions and doing 8 or 9 lo’s at a time, really fun! XX’s Beth

I stand (for the most part) in my crafting room and usually work on just 1 page at a time. I will sometimes put an incomplete page/project aside if I’ve hit a proverbial creative wall, coming back to it when inspiration returns. Thanks for the chance at the class.

I love ScrapScene! I’ve learned so much and found immeasurable inspiration from all of the sites I’ve been introduced to. I have a desk (where I sit down to scrap) with storage and a hutch of shelves above with most of my paper crafting items (made for me by my dearest loving husband). I also need and use a huge old suitcase to hold over-sized pictures and momentos that I want to get pictures of to go with pages I haven’t got to yet. I like to do double scrap-pages for scrapbooks except the first and last pages which are singles. I love projects other than scrapbooks pages. My daughter, college freshman, has all of her notebooks altered (not to mention her dorm decor)… she says her friends and even some profs love them. Her friends want to learn how, maybe we’ll have a scrap party after spring break. I am new to scrapbooking but not to mixed media art. Scrapbooking hooked me because of all of the beautiful paper! Beautiful, beautiful paper!!! I’m also a proficient needleworker which I love. Whatever I am doing, I like to finish one project before I start another, unfinished projects break my peace of mind and concentration!

    I would LOVE to play!

My actual creating tends to take place sitting down. I would love to stand, but the table is to low. I like to get really close to my work when I am writing or lining things up just so. I get really hunched over – really not good for me. Pilates helps!

Right now I am reading Stacy Julian’s Photo Freedom book and plan to plunge headlong into that! I scrap sitting down only because I don’t have a tall work-table. When I work on a single layout I like to finish that to completion. I get my instant gratification doing it that way. However, with mini albums, I can linger on those for awhile longer… I still have some uncompleted ones from 3 years ago. I call those my work in progress.

  134. Victoria
Posted 6 years, 4 months ago | Permalink

I would love to say I have a place I scrap. I HAVE a scrap space but don’t often get to use it, I love the way it is set up, where it is and where things are but becuase I’m so busy I scrap at crops. I dream of being able to use my space for the purpose.

I am inspired by anything and everything… clothes, logos, items around the home. I do work on one layout at a time… but occasionally I do give up half way through and try something else. I always start with the photo, pattered paper, embellies.

  135. Posted 6 years, 4 months ago | Permalink

I scrap standing up. It’s easier to work with my die cut machines and when I’m in need of looking for a certain embellishment. I tend to work on 1 layout at a time until it is finished.

  136. Posted 6 years, 4 months ago | Permalink

I LOVE this mini album!! I’d LOVe to learn how to make it!!!
I usually start scrapping standing up, as I chose my pictures, and papers. Then I usually sit down and start playing around with the arrangement of the layout. Then I usually stand up again, and come to the computer to browse around for a little inspiration. Back to my desk, start looking for the embellishments I had in mind, stand up, sit down, go crazy, because, organized as I am (NOT!) I usually can’t find them! Then I sit again to adhere everything down… Then I realize it’s 3 and Connor will be up at 5, so I NEED to go back to sleep! (I usually don’t ever finish a full project in one night)
I have several projects (scrapbooking, sewing, altering) going at the same time. Pretty interesting trying to figure EACH one out, they get a bit entangled, and I end up with sewing on my LOs and paper on my pillow covers!

  137. Posted 6 years, 4 months ago | Permalink

i scrap wherever i can find space!! preferably seated at a table, but seeing my tabletop is cluttered, i’ve been stuck on the floor… I guess that’s what happens when you stick a scrapper’s craft room with a playroom for two want-for-nothing boys, and its not a room the size of a BARN!!!

  138. Posted 6 years, 4 months ago | Permalink

Well I tend to scrap standing up and work one layout or project at a time. If I’m really into the product that I’m using, something new and fresh and fun that gets me all inspired, well then I might work a few LO’s at the same time. I think I work one at a time or they tend to come out looking like a “set” … Thanks for a chance at this great looking class!

  139. Posted 6 years, 4 months ago | Permalink

Oh I love the sound of that class! Exciting!
I sit and scrap unless I am running about ‘searching for that special item/stamp’ ;p
I like to finish 1 LO before starting another but often end up with various projects on the go.

I’d love a place on this class ;)
I scrap sitting, standing and kneeling! When I’m glueing I always stand (and I tend to hold my breath!!). I generally have to finish a page before starting the next in fact I often stay up really late to finish as I hate uncompleted projects!

  141. Posted 6 years, 4 months ago | Permalink

    Looks like a fun class.
I scrap most often standing up, though when I’m doing my journaling by hand I need to sit down and get comfy. I always make sure my layout is completed with journaling, before I start on another one. I’m just that type of girl :)

I like to scrapbook on the floor. That way I am able to spread everything out and see it. I tend to work on two or three layouts at a time. I have to have an idea of how I want the themes to floar throughout the book.

  143. Connie
Posted 6 years, 4 months ago | Permalink

Almost always standing up! I am short so standing gives me a better view of my layout (although I till almost always glue something crooked!!).

I usually always have a project on deck-like a mini album or something. Then I may do a layout or two to take a break or, if I am particularly inspired by something.

I scrap sitting down, unless I’m cutting with my paper trimmer, then I have to stand. I always have many layouts going because I like to go back after some time away and see what strikes me. There’s always something I think of later! Right now I scrap on the dining room table and when we need it , I pack everything up but usually I just leave
