I just joined a designers book club… Before that I did not have a “library” beyond the occasional scrapping magazine. I now have Designing with Details, Designing with Recipes, Designing with Texture (all from Autumn Leaves), Imperfect Lives, and Home Decor…(2 of these are still coming in the mail) These are the books we have chosen for the next 5 months of our bookclub…So far I have only really looked through the Designing with Details (it was our Feb. book) … and I love it. I also love the web site pencil lines… they bring in some fun artist from around the world and share sketches… Thanks :-)

I would like to be entered in the giva aways Thank You. I’m new to the world of blogging, and I love them. I had no idea in the time I’ve been down since my illness worsened, that the world of blogging has so much to offer and I’m overwhelmed! A wonderful alternative to yahoogroups etc. I have cancelled all my rubber stamping and other magazines. The world of paper arts, mixed media, card making, scrapbooking all have so much to offer and seem to be blending together at last so that we can all learn from each other and not just be limited to one title or field.

Well as I am a passionate card maker I would have to say a lot of my inspiration comes from the books “CARDS” by Scrapbook Trends. I won my first copy of this book and have been buying one every now and then. I just love them and treasure them dearly.
Another book would have to be Autumn Leaves “Perfectly Clear” I love to see how the stamps can be used in different ways.

I have been finding a lot of great ideas on the internet.
Nine times out of ten, if the idea is out there in a book, it will show up on a blog or two along with some great examples.
I use to read Creating Keepsakes, but have lost interest in the magazine.

  83. Posted 6 years, 6 months ago | Permalink

I have a ton of idea books, but I always seems to grab the “Designing With …” series, Becky Higgins Sketch books OR my own file of clippings from magazines. For storage purposes, I take my magazines and cut them up, saving the layouts that I’m drawn to, putting them in a three-ring binder with comments next to it of what I am attracted to about that page.

A friend recently recommended Maximalism and it is influencing the way I’m looking at the world right now. The Foof-a-life book was short but got me to thinking of why I keep those boxes and boxes of old costume jewelry from Great-Aunt Iva when everyone keeps telling me its junk. And speaking of junk some of the recent magazines have had a green theme and one was about using junk mail. I’ve used bits and pieces that I collect from packaging and junk mail in what I’ve called my “junk art” I made for years for decorating the house… since I just started scrapbooking it was natural to continue. Lifelines was very good to… I keep going back for another look.

My favorite book is Ali Edwards. (All of them!) I keep going back to them time and time again.

I also enjoy Ali’s books and love sketch books!

I really like Ali Edwards’ A Designer’s Eye, as well as the “Designing with” series by Autumn Leaves. Designing with Paper comes to mind. I also love looking at Elsie’s 52 Scrapbooking Challenges and the We Dare You Scrapbooking Challenge books, as they really get me thinking outside the box.

I like Cathy Zielske’s Clean and Simple books. I look through them time and time again. The new book on the Organized Scrapbooker is also one that I’ve been picking up on a weekly basis. Love it. Good luck with your company. I checked it out and the stuff is really cool.

You can never go wrong with CK Magazine. I love the simplicity of Becky Higgins style and also Cathy Zielske. Such great inspiration from the two of them. What I do is tear out all my favorite pages and put them into a binder with different tabbed sections for quick reference, so that way when I’m looking for inspiration I can quickly refer back.
