Handmade Valentine Card a Day- Day 6

Welcome to Day 6 or our Valentine Card a Day posts! Today, we are sharing a handmade card created by Jen, of Torn Paper blog. Please visit her site here and also her card challenge blog, Caardvarks.

jentornpapervdaycard.JPGSupplies:
Small scraps of two coordinating patterned papers
2 different pieces of coordinating cardstock
Lace, felt, button, floss, circle cutter
Needle, paper piercer, adhesive

Instructions:
Cut piece of cardstock to 8 1/2 x 5 1/2″ and fold in half at 4 1/4″
Cut a card panel from coordinating cardstock to 4 x 5 1/4″
Cut two pieces of patterned paper to 1 1/2 x 5 1/4″ each
Distress edges of patterned paper if desired
Cut a strip of cardstock to 3/4 x 5 1/4″
Cut a 3″ circle from cardstock
Cut a 2 1/2″ circle from coordinating cardstock
Mat smaller circle onto larger circle
Pierce holes around inner circle
Create a simple stitch around inner circle using needle and floss
Hand-cut or die cut (maybe with your Cricut Machine) a heart from felt
Run floss through a coordinating button
Adhere heart and button onto matted, stitched circle as shown
Adhere lace to bottom of card panel
Adhere patterned paper strips to center of card panel
Adhere cardstock strip to cover seam where the patterned strips meet
Adhere circle element to center of card panel using foam tape or pop dots
Adhere card panel to card base

Twists:
Instead of cutting circles, punch scalloped circles
Change the felt shape and patterned papers for a different theme;
use a clover and greens for St. Pat’s Day, cut a felt egg for Easter, etc.
Use your initial(s) instead of a felt shape for personalized stationery
