Handmade gifts are just the thing to give to a hard-to-buy for person. These Christmas gift ideas are a great way to use some of your scrapbooking supplies – they are giving me the itch to start creating!
Love these gorgeous altered cubes made by Ginny Carter Smallenburg, of Ginny’s Small Studio. (Photo at left.) You’ve seen them as photo cubes, but as Ginny shows, you can also alter them with stamps! Ginny purchased the 2″ blocks from Michaels and then applied an acrylic cream paint for the background. She used stamped images from Stampers Anonymous and StazOn ink. The blocks were then aged with a rust ink. Another idea would be to make each block featuring a photo of a grandchild for a gift for the grandparents. If you get a chance, swing over to Ginny’s website, Small Studio Productions, to purchase some of her unique embellishments, vintage paper packs, specialty ribbons and more.
The Maya Road Design Team has been posting some really interesting handmade holiday ideas on their blog here. I especially like this 2 Ring Calendar Layer Book by Katie Watson and the easy altered Steno Office Sheers notebook by Waleska Neris (photo at right).
There are lots of hand stamped Christmas card ideas on the A Muse Art Stamps blog here.
Blueprint magazine has a free download for some gorgeous black and white wrapping paper and paper embellishments. Check it out here.
