This is part 3 of a post on handmade Christmas cards from ScrapScene readers. Part 1 can be found here and part 2 here. Readers have been following along last week as we posted a Christmas Card a Day idea.
Vivian, of DigiScrapper blog, shows another of her card designs at left. She made this tree using a skewer cut down to size, with ribbon tied to it and spaced all the way down. The ribbon was then cut to varying lengths and a star was added, cut from a piece of fabric and mod-podged. The ribbon was also mod-podged and the whole card was put under a book until the skewer was attached to the card.
Also, take a look at Vivian’s cute lacey Christmas tree scene on a card she made, shown below. To make the card, Vivian tells us, “First, I sewed (by hand… I recommend using a machine for this) white lace that is trimmed with gold to white cardstock. Then I cut out some triangles. I got enough to do two cards with the gold trim hanging down and a third card with three smaller triangles, all with the gold trim pointing up. I used blue paper with a swirly pattern that I got years
ago in a giant block of paper from Michaels craft store… I layered some… snowy white dollar store paper at the bottom to look like snow hills. Then I glued on three small lace trees. They didn’t need brads because the tops had gold lace up. I drew a small star in the ‘sky’ and filled it in with my silver Color Box stamp. I also edged the snow hills and the card with the same stamp.” To see more of Vivian’s Christmas cards, check out her blog here.

I love that idea for the tree card. Using ribbons is such an easy, simple idea, but looks fantastic.
I love to make trees out of ribbon scraps but I’ve never tried lace before! Here’s a card I made recently using scraps from my ribbon jar:

Here’s some cards I just did at a card party on Friday night!

I’ve also got lots of swap photos and other Christmas cards on there if you’re looking for inspiration.
