Welcome to Day 5 of our handmade Christmas Card a Day idea with instructions. Follow along each day this week for a new card design! Please see our previous post for background details on this post. (For previous card designs, please click here.)
This card features a very simple Christmas tree made of ribbon which you will find is very quick and easy to make in large quantities.
Instructions:
- Cut out your greeting card base from a piece of festive patterned paper. We used Basic Grey’s 12″x12″ double-sided patterned paper, “Snowed In/Wintermint” from their Fruitcake collection. The cut size (open) is 6″ x 9″.
- Score the card in half and fold.
- Cut out coordinating pieces of ribbon in gradually extending lengths. We cut the ends pointed to prevent excess fraying. Cut out a small piece of ribbon for the tree trunk as well. Glue the ribbons on to the front of the card starting with the smallest piece at the top and
finishing with the longest piece at the bottom. Glue on the tree trunk piece to the bottom. A pompom is glued to the top of the tree, but you can use a decorative brad or anything else you can come up with.
