Wait, I don’t mean scrap Thanksgiving… I mean scrapbook your Thanksgiving! It is Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada so Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Canadians and elsewhere!
Thanksgiving brings memories of good times with friends and family, nice cool weather (not this time though) and great food! If you haven’t dedicated any of your layouts to this time of year, now is good time to start. Something I’ve always wanted to do is gather favourite seasonal family recipes and put them together in a mini book, copying it for everyone to enjoy. Pumpkin pie, yams, stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes, turkey and of course your Great Aunt Flo’s recipe for jello with bits of fruit floating around in it!
If you don’t celebrate Thanksgiving in your part of the world, what about Fall? This season is full of beautiful colours and there are lots of scrapbooking materials available to help convey the feeling.
Here are a few ideas to inspire you to scrap Thanksgiving or Fall:
Debbie Hodge has a Thanksgiving layout shown here which features her Mom’s great cooking.
Bunnynose made this digital layout about Thanksgiving which features some great photos of pumpkin pie.
Take a Break shows how to make your own miniature ‘real’ leaves here. This looks like such a fun idea to try out. It would be great on cards.
Here are some “Gratitude” cards made by Celtic Fish. She made these cards to give to some deserving people at Thanksgiving time.
I love this simple place card idea that Theadi shows here. (Photo above also.)
Connie Angela shows a cute Thanksgiving party favour she made here. It is popcorn wrapped in brown paper and embellished with a label and raffia.
Rosemary Zuba made this Thanksgiving layout. (Shown above left also.)
