Party Favours Using Your Scrapbook Supplies

greetingartspetitepillowpackages.jpg

There are so many inspiring ideas available for creating your own party favours which can enable you to use your scrapbooking supplies. Whether you are hosting a birthday party, a Halloween party, a baby shower, wedding shower or even a Christmas party, here are a few ideas to inspire you to make your own party favours:

GreetingArts shows a tutorial on how to make little packages of pillow mints in glassine envelopes here. (One photo is shown at left.) I like the added touch of sewing the edges together on these “Petite Pillow Packages.”

Check out these adorable paper baby booty party favourstamsgspartyfavour.jpg by Marzycards. There are more here and here. I imagine you could even adapt this free pattern for cloth booties from Molly Chicken to become a paper project for them.  Marzycards also shows lots of paper bags here and also on her main photo page.

Note, this artist asks to not copy her original design. These fortune cookies are made of felt, but perhaps you can try something similar out of vellum or another paper?

Tams GS shows these unique party favours/place cards combined into one (at right.) As she mentions in her description, this was a great way to save costs for a wedding reception. Check out her other photos for lots more ideas for party favours.

Children’s birthday party favours can be really fun!  enfantuniquepinwheels.jpgThese paper pinwheels, by Enfant Unique, would work great for a children’s birthday party favour. (Photo at left.) Here is a pattern and instructions if you’d like to give it a try.

These flipflops, by Samantha, have been decorated up with lots of scrapbooking embellishments like flowers and ribbons. Great for a kid’s party – better yet, get the children to decorate the flip flops themselves!

Love this idea, by Shizzknits, for packaging sidewalk chalk into children’s party favours.

This idea for a laminated placemat, by Viola Panache, made me think of other options using this idea.  You could colour photocopy traditional layouts or digitally print them then get them laminated as party favours.  This particular placemat in the link is for a rehearsal dinner party favour, but you could easily adapt the layout for any occasion – a child’s birthday party for example.

Another idea for a party favour, perhaps for a wedding shower or a girl’s party, is to get everyone to submit their favourite recipe in advance of the party.  Create mini recipe card layouts, copy and laminate them for handing out.  Give one card to each person, or if you’re really ambitious, make everyone a mini book of all the recipes!
