Four magical workshops taught by Teresa McFayden, Carolyn Peeler, Marilyn Healey and Kimberly Kwan 10am to 10pm, Saturday, June 23, 2007 Scrapbooks Etc, Mesa Arizona. Seating is very limited for this mixed media adventure, $180 (US) per person includes lunch, yummy sweet treats and delightful give-aways!
The Bella events are the brainchild of Teresa McFayden, noted mixed-media artist and industry innovator for many years. Beginning in 2005, Teresa began the Bella concept by hosting weekend retreats featuring well-know instructors teaching the fine art of mixed media and paper and photographic “artsy.â€Â Each event has grown subsequently larger and the Bella events are now drawing quite a bit of media attention within the industry, not to mention an overwhelming grass-roots and word-of mouth swell amongst the mixed-media and scrapbooking communities.
Teresa, Kim and Carolyn are veteran Bellas, having taught at the hugely successful Silver Bella in Omaha last November, and they are delighted to have the amazing Marilyn Healey join them for this paper-arsty adventure in the Arizona desert. Each of the four Bellas are teaching unique and magical classes (sample photos attached) and Teresa will be on hand to sign copies of her new Autumn Leaves book, “Foof-a-Life.” While this all-day glitter-fest sold out in under a week, devoted fans can look forward to the announcement of Silver Bella 2007 registrations opening on June 2nd. Silver Bella 2007 will be held in Omaha, NE on November 9-10, 2007 where you can expect to see the most AMAZING line-up of artist-instructors ever!!
Here are the Sparkle Bella artist bios and what they’re teaching:
Teresa McFayden
Paper Arts fanatic would best describe Teresa. She dabbles in all things paper, ranging from collage, to book making to scrapbooking. Teresa’s passion for industry has lead her down nearly every path including founding FoofaLa, a Paper Arts Company, owning retail store, hosting a TV Show Stamping and Scrapping with Teresa McFayden (Cox Network) and product development for Autumn Leaves.  In 2006 Teresa started Paper Bella, a Paper Arts Kits Company. She has been published in several industry magazines including The Look Book by Autumn Leaves, and Foof-a-Life by Autumn Leaves, available in May, 2007. Teresa enjoys teaching locally and across the country. She is the soccer mom to 3, and considers them her greatest achievements. She invites you to peek into her world on her blog .
Teresa is teaching Bella Flora- An Altered Book: Flowers. Spring. Life’s photos. They all become a breath of fresh air in this beautiful altered book. We’ll add new pages to an old book giving it a shabby flair, then alter flowers, add ribbonry, glitter, fabric, and your treasured photos. This Bella Flora book in all its style and finery will be admired for years to come.
Carolyn Peeler
A lover and collector of all things vintage, sparkly and pretty, Carolyn loves to rummage through antique shops and find that perfect treasure. Carolyn’s love of scrapbooking and paper crafts, lead her to become involved professionally in this industry. She has been on the Chatterbox DT, a product designer for Rusty Pickle and is now happily at home as the Senior Creative Director at Melissa Frances. It is her dream job and between designing product and teaching throughout Canada and the USA, she’s one busy girl! In addition to being published in the industry’s major magazines and Idea Books, she is a contributing writer for the Canadian Scrapbooker magazine and has written articles for Legacy (now Somerset Memories) and Woman’s Day. She and her husband live in Vancouver, Canada.  She invites you take a peek into her world by visiting her blog.
Carolyn is teaching Scandalous Vintage Bellas: Prudence and Winifred always appeared to be such refined and genteel women. It was a great surprise for the members of their quaint little town to discover that their enigmatic smiles hid many scandalous secrets. Featuring a vintage photo, this bright and summery wall hanging will celebrate wild women everywhere! In this class we will dabble in paint, gesso, German glass glitter, and Melissa Frances oh-so-shabby papers (and I can’t wait to show you my totally fun charcoal technique!).
Kimberly Kwan
Crafty from birth and with a professional background in motivational speaking and adult training, Kim has found her niche in paper and photographic arts. Her 3 favorite places to be are spending quality time with friends and family, being behind the lens of her camera and with a microphone in front of any kind of an audience!  Kim’s credits include stints as a designer and freelance artist for Art Warehouse and Daisy D’s Paper Company. In addition to her paper arts and design business, Kim has a thriving portrait photography business in Scottsdale, Arizona, is a noted special events instructor at paper arts trade shows and retreats across the country. Kim recently returned from teaching at Version Scrap in Paris and you can find her work in many of the major industry magazines. Her over-the-top personality brings a refreshing twist to our industry! She invites you to peek into her world on her blog.
Kim is teaching Whimsy – A Clearly Wonderful Mini-Album:  They say good things come in small packages, and this project is clearly a fine example of that! Diminutive in size, but large in collage-packed yumminess, this mini-album features “Beacon Hill†papers by Daisy D’s and fabulous collage images from Paper Whimsy. When combined with a treasure trove of vintage ephemera, lace and sparkly goodness, these standard paper goods become simply marvelous! In this class you’ll learn to create your own mini-album using surprising hardware-store supplies and then fill it up with whimsical touches.
Marilyn Healey
With a degree in Illustration, Marilyn has worked as an artist in one form or another for many years. Ultimately finding herself as a free-lance designer and illustrator, Marilyn let scrapbooking take over her life ten years ago.  Marilyn was inducted into the Creating Keepsakes Hall of Fame in 2000 and the PaperKuts Power Team in 2001. She has been on several design teams for scrapbooking companies such as Autumn Leaves, KI Memories, and Provo Craft. Marilyn was a Garden Girl on the popular scrapbooking website Two Peas In A Bucket for four years. She has been published in numerous industry magazines over the last nine years with the Autumn Leaves “Designing With…â€Â and “Foof-A-Life†publications being the most recent.  Over-the-top creations are Marilyn’s favorite, whether in scrapbooking or mixed media artwork. When not caring for her family, admiring the Utah mountains, or watching humorous movies with her husband, Marilyn can be found creating in her studio lost among her stacks of old books, vintage ephemera, paints and brushes. She invites you to peek into her world on her blog.
Marilyn is teaching Victorian Bella Banner: Brighten a room in your home or a corner of your studio with four gorgeous feet of fluttering pennants. We’ll be creating seven Victorian flags that we’ll embellish with yummy goodies and string together with pretty ribbon. Plenty of florals and sweet birdies, sepia-aged sheet music, soft ribbons and fabrics, lace, beautiful patterned papers….and of course…glitter!
