Silver Bella Artist Interviews! (Part 1)

silverbellasbinstructweblist.jpg

There are only a very few spots left for the Silver Bella event – you can still go here to register. Meanwhile, are there a few more things you’ve always wanted to know about the Silver Bella artists? We took the liberty of posing some fun questions to these “Prima Bellas.” Below are Teresa and Rebecca’s answers. We’ll be posting the artist’s responses in a few different posts, so keep your eyes peeled for upcoming interviews! (Don’t forget to see the sneak peek links at the bottom of each interview!)

Teresa McFayden (lovingly referred to as “Boss Bella!”)silverbellalogo.jpg

How did you all get together for this event?

Each Instructor (Prima Bella) was asked to instruct by me. The style of their work had to mingle nicely with the other artist’s styles, and yet stand on it’s own. Also, we get to work together for months and closely during the Event, so personalities were a factor in choosing as well! It’s a bit of a sisterhood, really!

How would you describe your style?

I have a shabby eclectic style I suppose. Hard to say! I don’t always see it, but that’s what people tell me!

What one thing would you like for your students to take from your class(es)?

The one thing I would like to see people take home from Silver Bella’s Event would be a huge smile and memories and inspiration from the Event that will carry them through the year!

If you weren’t an artist/designer, what occupation would you be in?

If I weren’t an artist or designer, my next in line occupation would probably be a teacher.

What other hobbies are you involved in?

Other hobbies of mine…photography, and probably music. I am totally wanting that PS2 Guitar Hero Game. To play with my sons of course-ahem.

What snack food item do you always have on hand for those long creating sessions?

Favorite Snack while creating…Diet Coke w/Lime and Cheez-Its or Peanut M&Ms

Rebecca Sower

How did you all get together for this event?

Teresa (McFayden) obviously has an amazing knack for bringing together people with similar creative loves but varied styles…so glad to be joining this year’s Silver Bella…we owe it all to Ms. T.

How would you describe your style?
Nostalgic, hand-rendered, heartfelt (love using words, quotes, inspiration in my work which included all sorts of mediums).

What one thing would you like for your students to take from your class(es)?

That they are indeed creative beings.

If you weren’t an artist/designer, what occupation would you be in?
My dream job would be to work in a coffee shoppe, unless there were some way Sea World would hire me to train their dolphins but that’s unlikely.

What other hobbies are you involved in?
Flower gardening, junquing, parenting, lots of reading.

What snack food item do you always have on hand for those long creating sessions?Hmmm…no food, just water or coffee and a big selection of music are all I need (and the house to myself–heaven!)
