Scrapbook Trend Watch – Chipboard

Chipboard is everywhere! Whether it be letters, flowers or other shapes, you can find chipboard pieces for decorating your scrapbook pages from many different manufacturers. Paint it, cover it with paper or other embellishments, sand it, stamp it – take your pick. The ideas are endless for this product and best of all they give a 3D look to your pages without adding too much bulk.

Heidi Swapp is well known for her chipboard shapes. She gives tips on how to use them on her site as well as in a pdf that I talked about in a previous post here.

Other manufacturers of chipboard shapes include Bazzill Basics and Making Memories , with many more out there. The latter even makes larger sized letters for wall decoration.

Paula Whittaker has a card in a Crafts Beautiful magazine (UK) insert (August ’06) that displays chipboard letters on the front. Paula’s source in the UK is Scrapadoodledoo. See photo of Paula’s card above.
