Update from Heidi Swapp Chat

Yesterday evening, Heidi Swapp stopped by Scrapper’s Bliss to have a celebrity scrapbooking chat. (See my previous post). Here are a few key points from the chat:

  • when asked about any hints for CHA Summer, Heidi responded that she was going to show pre-release pictures on July 5th (I’m assuming on her website)
  • regarding hints about her upcoming retreat, she will be posting some on her website on Monday, however she did say that her class would be altering a wall clock
  • when describing her scrapbooking process, Heidi says it starts with a good photo; lately her style has been “fresh simple layouts,” but she recently dug out a copy of Legacy magazine and is inspired to “get out the messy stuff”
  • Heidi is pleased with how her stamps have turned out and is planning on introducing more in the future
  • her top five favourite products are: “masks, florals, ghost anything, silhouettes, journalling spots” (more journalling spot styles are coming out for summer)
  • a poster suggested she come out with fonts and Heidi’s response was, “I am working on a little something!”
  • Heidi confesses that she wishes she had “more time to create… and play… learn and explore new techniques…”
  • she claims her studio is a “disaster” as her weakness is organization and keeping things clean
  • when asked if she loves her handwriting, Heidi laughed and said, “um… yea… I think so! I actually think it’s kind of messy… but it’s very me…”
  • Heidi says that flowers are “so HOT right now…” and that they keep “showing up on my BACKORDER report!”
  • regarding any future idea books, Heidi says that “there is definitely something on the radar”; she is also working at adding more to her website to improve it as a resource for “ideas, techniques, and inspiration”
  • Heidi has an embellishment kit that was tested in several Costco’s awhile back and since it was deemed successful, they will be rolling it out into all the stores by the end of July
  • Heidi won’t be at CHA Summer herself, but plans to attend the Memory Trends conference in October in Las Vegas with her new baby
